As a municipal corporation, we operate under a $23 million dollar budget which allows us to maintain streets, sidewalks, sewers, drainage systems, parks, a zoo, recreation facilities such as ball fields, tennis and bas- ketball courts, the best police and fire services, loan programs and loan subsidies, and of course, another senior citizens high rise, a few of many services provided for the betterment of our community. You will note that we are beginning to move ahead lately, and with our broad tax base as a result of new, modern and convenient shopping centers and our faith- ful Mile of Cars, we now take in $8 million dollars in tax revenues which is all being plowed back to improve services and quality of life for the people of National City. I hope this will be a very informative and suc- cessful evening and that you will be enlightened about how your city government functions for your benefit. I urge you to ask questions and bring to light any problems exist- ing in your neighborhood. Sincerely yrs, 14;1//f KILE MORGAN Mayor KM/ev
