MAYOR
Mayor Morgan said that since he has had any say in operating the City,
taxes have gone down; the "No on W" people say taxes will be raised;
this City has a reputation of not raising taxes; seven years in a row
we lowered them.
CITY COUNCIL
Councilman Waters said Proposition W is in the hands of the people; the
people will make the decision; the opposition dealt in untruths and
they used outside money to try to defeat "W"; this could cause great
damage to us, similar to losing the shipyard because of meddling by
certain politicians; this is too bad; maybe we could have done a
better job; he never thought a bunch of outsiders could convince the
citizens they did not want to get rid of those bars.
ADJOURNMENT
Moved by Van Deventer, seconded by Camacho, the meeting be adjourned.
Carried by unanimous vote. The meeting closed at 4:09 p.m.
