HomeMy WebLinkAbout2003 04-08 CC ADJ MIN (2)Book 85/Page 80 4/8/03 MINUTES OF THE ADJOURNED REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NATIONAL CITY, CALIFORNIA April 8, 2003 The Adjourned Regular Meeting of the City Council of the City of National City was called to order at 3:02 p.m. by Mayor Nick Inzunza. ROLL CALL Councilmembers present: Inzunza, Morrison, Natividad, Parra, Ungab. Administrative officials present: Dalla, Eiser, Kimble, Kirkpatrick, Morse, Myers, Post, Trees. PUBLIC ORAL COMMUNICATIONS — None DISCUSSION ITEM 1. Financing: Main Fire Station 108 Loan There was a brief review of past actions and considerations relative to construction and financing of a new Main Fire Station facility. Past events and milestones were presented in chronological order. Outstanding issues to be discussed, understood and resolved by the City Council include but are not limited to: financing, use of the HUD approved Section 108 loan, bonding options, scope and cost of various project options, whether to build a new facility or remodel the existing facility, retain or relocate the fire administrative offices. There was extensive discussion. It was agreed that Mayor Inzunza and Councilman Morrison would work as a subcommittee and come back in 30 days with something formal. In the interim, the staff would continue to compile and refine relevant information such as the costs and impacts of various options, loans and bonds, bonding capacity, and construction costs. There was no vote. Book 85/Page 80A 4/8/03 ADJOURNMENT The meeting was adjourned to a joint meeting with the Community Development Commission and Planning Commission to be held Tuesday, April 8, 2003 at 4:00 p.m. in the Martin Luther King Community Center.
