HomeMy WebLinkAbout2003 09-30 CC MINBook 85/Page 230 9/30/03 MINUTES OF THE SPECIAL MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NATIONAL CITY, CALIFORNIA September 30, 2003 The Special Meeting of the City Council of the City of National City was called to order at 6:06 p.m. by Mayor Nick Inzunza. ROLL CALL Councilmembers present: Natividad, Parra, Ungab, Inzunza. Councilmembers absent: Morrison Administrative officials present: Dalla, Eiser, Morse, Post. Proposed Amendments to Title 18 (Zoning), Chapters 18.16 and 18.71 of the National City Municipal Code, Regarding the Sale of Alcoholic Beverages. Planning Director Roger Post explained the current regulations and proposed revisions of the law dealing with the sale of alcoholic beverages. Director Post also provided an historic perspective on the evolution of alcoholic beverage control regulations and procedures. A total of 19 individuals asked questions and/or expressed opposition to the proposed amendments to Title 18. A partial list of speakers includes: Dr. George Cameron, Superintendent, National School District; Lus Vicarro, Principal, Lincoln Acres School, Margaret and Ted Godshalk, Penny Estrada, Benito Hernandez, Marta Flores, Cheryl Colmenero, Arturo Mejia, Nancy Garcia, and Frank Lopez. No action was taken. ADJOURNMENT The meeting was adjourned to the next Regular Meeting of the City Council to be held on October 7, 2003, at 6:00 p.m., Council Chambers, Civic Center.
