MINUTES OF THE ADJOURNED REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY
COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NATIONAL CITY, CALIFORNIA
September 25, 2006
The Adjourned Regular Meeting of the City Council of the City of National
City, meeting in Joint Session with the Governing Board of the National
School District, was called to order at 6:04 p.m., by Mayor Nick Inzunza.
ROLL CALL
Council Members present: Inzunza, Morrison, Natividad (6:25 p.m.), Parra,
Za rate.
PRESENTATION AND DISCUSSION (102-10-1)
1. Presentation and Discussion regarding unification of National City public
schools.
Dr. George Cameron, Superintendent of the National School District,
reviewed the recent history of unification efforts in National City and
identified some of the issues that need to be considered in pursuing any
future unification efforts.
Dr. Carole Parks from the San Diego County Office of Education gave a
presentation on the unification; outlining what it is, who is responsible, the
required state criteria to be applied, and the local process and timeline for
approval and implementation. (See Exhibit 'A', attached.)
There was comment and discussion by City Council and School Board
members and questions and comments from the public.
TEMPORARY USE PERMITS 2006 (203-1-22)
2. Temporary Use Permit — Dia de la Mujer Latina Festival, September 30,
2006, request to use Kimball Park with no waiver of fees. (Building &
Safety)
RECOMMENDATION: Approve the Temporary Use Permit subject to all
conditions of approval with no waiver of fees.
TESTIMONY: None.
ACTION: None.

The meeting was adjoumed to the Next Regular City Council and Community
Development Commission Meeting to be held Tuesday, October 3, 2006 at 6:00
p.m., Council Chambers, Civic Center.
The meeting closed at 7:39 p.m.
