GENERAL REVENUE SHARING FUNDS
CITY OF NATIONAL CITY, FY-1978-79

City Manager Gill opened the hearing at 10:00 a.m.
Administrative officials present: City Manager Gill, Assistant to the
City Manager Ballard, Executive Director Community Development
Commission Peterson, City Clerk Campbell.
City Manager Gill stated this was the first of two hearings, the
purpose of which was to provide interested citizens, groups, senior
citizens and organizations the opportunity to submit written and/or
oral comments on the possible uses of an estimated $998,500 of General
Revenue Sharing Funds in fiscal year 78-79; notice of the hearing was
published in the N.C. Star -News on April 20, 1978 and all news media
serving the greater San Diego area were notified, as were local senior
citizens groups. The City Manager reported three applications were
received: (1) MEALS ON WHEELS, South Bay Division, to subsidize its
senior adult meals program, $1,650; (2) PARKING AUTHORITY of the City
of National City, to pursue development of the Plaza Bonita Regional
Shopping Center; and (3) National City SENIOR CITIZENS' ADVISORY BOARD,
for purchase of a 15-passenger van to transport senior adults to City -
sponsored recreation activities, $10,000. Mr. Gill stated any other
grant applications for Revenue Sharing Funds could be filed at this
time and invited any interested persons wishing to submit comments or
suggestions to come forward.
BILL WIENER, Senior Adult Services, 3435 30th Street, San Diego, was
present and outlined the services provided to National City residents
by the South Bay Division of Meals on Wheels, urging approval of their
application.
There was no one else present to speak.
City Manager Gill closed the hearing at 10:12 a.m.
