National City, California, October 3, 1956
Adjourned meeting of October 2, 1956, of the City Council was
called to order by Vice Mayor Hollingsworth at 3:00 P.M.
o'clock. Council members present: Fessman, Heck, Hollings-
worth. Council members absent: Hart, Hodge,
ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICIALS present: Alston, Bird, Curran.
The meeting was opened with pledge of allegiance to the Flag.
CITY CLERK ALSTON stated the meeting was adjourned for the
purpose of canvassing the absentee ballots and the ballots
voted and declaring the results thereof of the special muni-
cipal election held September 26, 1956. Thirty-five appli-
cations for absentee ballots, were received, 34 voted and
returned their ballots and the other ballot was returned to-
day unclaimed.
The canvass of the official ballots was held at this time.

election be declared official and the necessary resolution
prepared. Carried, all the Council present voting aye.
RESOLUTION NO. 6762
DECLARING THE RESULT OF THE SPECIAL
MUNICIPAL ELECTION HELD IN THE CITY
OF NATIONAL CITY, CALIFORNIA, ON THE
26TH DAY OF SEPTEMBER, 1956.
WHEREAS, a Special Municipal Election was held and con-
ducted in the City of National City, California, on the 26th
day of September, 1956, as required by law; and
WHEREAS, it appears that Notice of said Election was
duly and regularly given; that voting precincts were proper-
ly established; that election officers were appointed and
election supplies furnished; and that in all respects said
Election was regularly and duly held and conducted according
to law and the votes cast thereat received and convassed, and
the returns thereof made and declared in time, form and
manner as required by the laws governing elections In general
law cities; and
WHEREAS, the Council of said City of National City
met at the Council Chambers in the City Hall of said City
of National City, on Tuesday, October 2, 1956, to canvass
the returns of said Election, as a result of which the Coun-
cil finds Chat the number of votes cast, the measures voted
upon, and other matters required by law, to be hereinafter
statede
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY the City Council of
CITY CT NATIONAL CITY, California, as follows:

That there were forty-one (4.1) voting precincts
established for the purpose of holding said election, con-
sisting of the regular election precincts established in said
City by the Board of Supervisors of the C ounty of San Diego
for the holding of elections.

That the whole number of votes cast in said City at
said Special Municipal Election was 4679 votes.
That the measures voted for, and the number of votes
given in each precinct, together with the whole number of
votes received in the entire City Election, are as follows:

That the number of votes cast by absentee voters at
said election have been canvassed and counted and are includ-
ed in the return as hereinabove stated.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk of the CITY
OF NATIONAL CITY is hereby directed to enter this RESOLUTION
upon the minutes of the City Council of said City.
Passed and adopted on the 3rd day of October, 1956.
