National City, California, January 15, 1952
Regular meeting of the City Council was called to order by
Mayor Maurice Carrigan at 7:30 P.M. o'clock. Councilme:.
present: Clarke, Curry, Hart, Ingalls, Carrigan. Councilmen
absent: None.
Moved by Curry, seconded by Hart, that the reading of the
minutes of the regular mooting of January 2, 1952, be dis-
pensed with. Carried, all Councilmen Ireeant voting aye.
ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICIALS present: Alston, Campbell, Seifert,
Gautereaux, Bailey.
C. L. KATHOL was present and asked that Attorney Campbell read
the correspondence regarding the detachment of his property
from the City of National City. ATTORNEY CAMPBELL stated that
sometime ago the Council tentatively agreed to adopt a resolut-
ion allowing certain prbporty owned by Mr. Kathol and Mr.
Beall to be detached from the City, upon the condition that
they pay the City $170.00 for each lot which Is serviceable by
sewers or have boon installed by the City. That money has
been paid to the City Treasurer.
RESOLUTION NO. 5621 was read, consenting to the detachment of
certain property owned by Cletus L. & Regina A. Kathol, and
Charles B. & Theresa M. Beall, from the City of National City.
Moved by Hart, seconded by Ingalls, that the Resolution be
adopted. Carried, all Councilmen present voting aye.
TOM LEONARD was present and stated he thought a good source of
revenue would be realized by the installation of parking
meters, and that b0 hoped the Council would act favorably in
this regard. COUNCILMAN CLSRKE stated the people of National
City expressed themselves at the last election that they did

not want parking motors, and he would be in favor of gioii:
them another chance by putting the issue on tho ballot et_

PAUL MILLER, 717 E. 8th Stroot, was prosont and prosontod a
petition signed by 47 real ostato brokers and real ostate
salesmen, protesting tho increase in business 1laonso foes
for roal estate brokors from $15.00 to $25.00, and of real
ostate salesmen from $10.00 to $15.00. It is requosted that
tho ordinance be ropoalod and tho formor foos be roostablishod.
CITY CLERK ALSTON stated it was 8:00 P.M. o'clock and timo
for tho opening of bids on tho ropair of 12u sowor pipo at
tho Sovonth Stroot Channoi. Tho following bid was received:
