HomeMy WebLinkAbout1951 12-04 CC MIN308 National City, California, December 4, 1951 Regular meeting of the City Council was called to order by Meyer Maurice Carrigan et 7.30 P.V. o'clock., Councilmen present: Clarke, Curry, Hart, Ingalls, Carrigan. Councilmen absent: None. Moved by Curry, seconded it Clarke, that the reading of the minutes of the regular nootir.g of Noverrber 20, 1951 be dis- pensed with. Carrie;', all Councilmen pr=s- voting aye. ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICIALS present: Alston, :.-bell, Seifert, Grey, Gautereaux, Harbison, Bailey. AL. GRAFF was present and stated it is his understanding that the Council have been loor:ing for ways and means of deriving more revenue and he suggested "kiddies rides.; be put in the Park. COUNCILMAN INGLLLS suggested that the persons concerned be notified to meet with the City Manager so he may report his findings to the Council. COU'CILMAN CLARKE asked that the Park Supt. also attend the meeting. MR. GRAFF stated he will notify the City Manager the name and address of the person to contact. • MRS. KODISH was present end called the attention of the Council to what she considers some injustices in the Dog Ordinance, end suggested that a public hearing be held so that the public may have an opportunity to voice their opinions. ATTORNEY CAMPBELL explained the provisions and legality of the Ordinance. J. R. HARVEY was present and questioned the legal right of police officers or others designated premises of a citizen to pick stated there is a possibility and the Ordinance provides in by the Council to enter the up their dog. ATTORNEY CAMPBELL that it might be unconstitutional, the event any section is uncon- stitutional, that section is .lot valid. POUNDPAST^R BOWMAN 12/4 309 stated he believed the Dog Ordinance is a very good one and he hes talked with a numbor of people who aro of the same opinion.
