RESOLUTION NO, 4423 was read, authorizing the transfer of $29,670,95 from the Unapp. Tax Fund to the following funds: General Fund $15;138,23 Library Fund 2,724,88 Park " & I Fund 3481, 79 Sink, Fund #4 1,362,45 Sink, Fund #6 1,059,68 Sink, Fund #7 '30277 Sink, Fund #8 4,087,33 Plan. Com, Fund 1'513,82 TOTAL,, , , , , , 01129,670,95 Also the transfer of $3,219,16 from the Special Delinquent Tax Fund to the following funds: General Fund $1,642,43 Library Fund 295,64 Park M & I Fund 377,76 Sink, Fund #4 147,82 Sink, Fund #6 114,97 Sink, Fund #7 3285 Sink, Fund #8 443,45 Plan, Com, Fund 164.24 TOTAL. , , , , , , , $3,219,16 Moved by Thatcher, adopted, Carried, seconded by Newberry, that the 'lesolution be all Councilmen present voting aye, ADP',INISTRATIVE 027ICER DICXSON reported there is $296,011,68 in the General Fund at the close of business and recommended a transfer of approximately $246,000,00 to the Capital Outlay :'und, Councilman Newberry suggested that $250,000,00 be transferred, 1229 RESOLUTION NO, 4424 was read, authorizing the transfer of $250,000,00 from the General Fund to the Capital Outlay Fund, Moved by Newberry, seconded by Thatcher, that the Resolution be adopted, Carried, all Councilmen present voting aye, ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICE'? DIC'{SON reportcd that the Street Department needs a roller and he believes the City could obtain one from War Surplus for approximately a1,100,00, but would have to pay about $2,000,00 elsewhere. RESOLUTION NO, 4425 was read, authorizing Purchasing Agent Dick- son to purchase a Trail.o-roller from War Surplus, Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Newberry, that the Resolution be adopted, Carried, all Councilmen present voting aye, ATTORNEY CAMPBELL excused, COMMUNICATION FRO?I R, L, BEUTHEL, DIVISION OF HIGHWAYS, was read, informing the City that the State has disapproved their request for Gas Tax Funds for the installation of curbs and sidewalks on National Avenue, Administrative Officer Dickson suggested that the City request the Division of Highways to take out the trees on National Av.:nue, Mayor Fritz suggested that Adminis- trative Officer Dickson contact Arnholt Smith, Division of High. ways Commissioner, in regard to the sidewalks and curbs, also thc trees, COMMUNICATION FROM FIRST CHURCH OF CHRIST, SCIENTIST, was read, expressing their appreciation for the City repairing the side- walk in front of the Church building at loth and D Avenue, Mayor Fritz ordered the Communiomtion filed, COMMUNICATIIN 'ROM CAPT, LESLIE N. STEIN, USA RET„ vas read, requesting permission to remove a tree in thc parkway nt #5 Highland Avenue, Moved by Newberry, seconded by Cordingly, that the request be granted, provided that Mr, Stein deposits $5,00 1230 with the City Treasurer and replaces the tree, Carried, all Councilmen present voting ayc, COMMUNICATION ICATION FROM PUBLIC ROADS ADITINISTRATION was read in regard to the City's notice of intent tJ file a claim for road damage, Mayor Pritz ordered the communication filed, COIUCUNICATION FRO;? !IRE CHIE^ BIRD reporting the resignation of Robert S, Woods under Section 8,2 of Civil Service Rules, was read and ordered filed, COMMUNICATION FROM H, H, JOHNSON, Contractor for the Memorial Bowl, giving formal notice of a fifteen day, due to difficulty in obtaining materials, was read and ordered filed, MAYOR ''RITZ suggested that possibly the City would be allowed to pay H, H, Johnson, Contractor for the Memorial Bowl, during the building of the bowl as the plans have been altered and the contract is not the same, After some discussion, it was the concensus to get a ruling from the Attorney, RESOLUTION NO, 4426 was read, increasing the salary of B, J, Gautercaux, Park Supt, $50,00 per month for three months, to compensate his increased duties during the summer recreational program, Moved by Thatcher, seconded by Cordingly, that the Resolution be adopted, Carried, all Councilmen present voting aye, RESOLUTION N0, 4427 was reed, authorizing the appointment of Ivan Grigsby as a summer recreation director for a period of two and one half months, salary to be $200,00 per month, effective June 16, 1947, Moved by Thatcher, seconded by Newberry, that the Resolution be adopted, Carried, all Councilmen present voting aye, MAYOR :RITZ stated that he would like permission to submit a 1231 monthly statement to cover expenses incurred in regard to City business as he didn't believe the Officials should have to take care of that expense, Couno.Tmen Newberry stated that at times it has been quite expensive Lc him for City functions and thought the Council should submit an expense account, Moved by Thatcher, seconded by Newberry, that membcra of the Council submit a month- ly bill for any expenses incurred in performance of their duties as Councilmen, Carried, all Councilmen present voting aye, RESOLUTION NO, 4428 was read, authorizing the following salary increases: Delavan J. Dickson, Administrative Officer �25,00 per month on salary and $25000 per month incrtnoc:., on car allowance; C. B, Ireland, City Engineer, $4000 per month on salary; Wayne W. Smith, Ass't City Engineer, $40,00 per month on salary„ all effective July 1, 1947, Moved by Newberry, seconded by Thatcher,. that the Resolution be adopted, Carried, all Councilmen present voting aye, AD;IINISTRATIVE OFFICER reported that the Police Department needs to increase their personnel by two men, Moved by Newberry, seconded by Cordingly, that the increase be allowed, Carried, all Councilmen present voting aye, Mayor Fritz requested Adminis- trative Officer Dickson to contact Chief of Police Bates and ascertain whether it would be feasible to have one of the men a motorcycle man, RESOLTJTIUN NO, 4420 was read, authorizing the appointment of Harry Hall as City Electrician, effective July 1, 1947, salaryw"225,00 per month, Mr, Hall to work under the Supt, of Streets and will also be Ass't Electrical Inspector, wit:mout additional salary, Said salary to be paid from t1.c Street Improvement Fund, Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Newberry, that the Resolution be adopt-,_ ed, Carried, all Councilmen present voting aye, 1232 Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Thatcher, that the meeting be closed.
