HomeMy WebLinkAbout1947 11-18 CC ADJ MIN93 National City, California, November 18, 194.7- Adjourned meeting of November 12, 194.7, of the City Couacil.was called to order by Mayor Fritz at 7:00 o'clock P. M. Council- men present: Adams, Cordingly, Newberry, Thatcher, Fritz. Mayor Fritz announced that this meeting was called to consider the retirement system for City Employees and to put it on the ballot before January 1, 1948. Mayor Fritz also stated that he would like to have the vote of the people as to whether the salary of the Council should be raised to $25.00 per month. After some discussion, Attorney Campbell ruled that it was doubtful whether there would be time enough to get the retirement proposition on the ballot before the first of the year, except for a straw vote. Councilman Newberry stated he feared that the results of a straw vote might not be satisfactory to the City Employees. Moved by Adams, seconded by Newberry, that the meeting be closed.
