Adjourned meeting of November 12, 194.7, of the City Couacil.was
called to order by Mayor Fritz at 7:00 o'clock P. M. Council-
men present: Adams, Cordingly, Newberry, Thatcher, Fritz.
Mayor Fritz announced that this meeting was called to consider
the retirement system for City Employees and to put it on the
ballot before January 1, 1948. Mayor Fritz also stated that
he would like to have the vote of the people as to whether the
salary of the Council should be raised to $25.00 per month.
After some discussion, Attorney Campbell ruled that it was
doubtful whether there would be time enough to get the retirement
proposition on the ballot before the first of the year, except
for a straw vote. Councilman Newberry stated he feared that
the results of a straw vote might not be satisfactory to the
City Employees.
Moved by Adams, seconded by Newberry, that the meeting be
closed. Carried, all Councilmen present -voting aye.
