HomeMy WebLinkAbout1944 08-30 CC MINNOTICE OF A SPECIAL MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF TIE CITY OF NATIONAL CITY, CALIFORNIA TO THE MEMBERS OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NATIO^TAL CITY, CALIFORNIA GENTLEMEN: Please take notice that a special meeting of the City Council of the City of National City, California, is hereby called by the undersigned Mayor of the said City, and will be held in the chambers of the said City Council in the City Hall in said City on Wednesday, the 30th day of August, 1944 at 7:30 P. M. o'clock of said day. The purpose of said meeting will be to set the City tax rate for the fiscal year of 1944-1945 and such other business as may be desired. Administrative officials present: Bates and Rogers. / RESOLUTION NO. 2678 was read, fixing the City Tax Rate for the fiscal year 1944-45 as follows: General Fund ? 1.00 Park M & I. .18 Library .21 Planning Commission- .14 Sinking Fund # 4 --- .10 Sinking Fund # 6 --- .12 Sinking Fund # 7 --- .03 Total $1.78 Moved by Christman, seconded by Cordingly that the resolution be adopted. Carried, all Councilmen present voting aye. Councilmen absent, none. RESOLUTION No. 2679, was read, fixing the hourly wage scale for part time labor at eighty cents per hour. Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Christman that resolution be adopted. Carried, all Councilmen present voting aye. Councilmen absent,none. ''''Motion by Newberry, seconded by Cordingly, that the city clerk be instructed to write a letter to the Concrete Ship Con- structors, stating that no permission had been issued by the city to dump refuse and debris on the tidelands area south of 19th street, and ordering the immediate removal of same by the ship- building company. Motion carried, all councilmen present voting aye. The report of the city treasurer on the Sinking Fund accounts was read. Moved by Christman, seconded by Cordingly that the report be accepted and ordered filed. Motion carried, all councilmen pres- ent voting aye. /RESOLUTION No. 2680, discontinuing the Search of Titles as a city function, and authorizing the City Clerk to make searches as an independent agent, was read. Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Newberry that the resolution be adopted. Carried, all councilmen present voting aye. Councilmen absent, none.
