Councilmen present: Cordingly, Fritz, Newberry, Thatcher. Councilman Christman absent: Administrative officials present: Burch, Smith, Ire]land, Knapp and Lamb. :7.E.Brackenbury of the Tavares Construction Company requested the change in the letter consenting to the dredging being done by the Company from the Concrete Ship Constructors to the Tavares Construction Company, Inc. Moved by Fritz, seconded by Newberry, that the change in consent be made. Carried, all Councilmen present voting aye. Councilmen absent: Christman. '/ Mr. Brackenbury also requested that the consent to the assignment of the leases be authorized. Moved by Newberry, seconded by %I Cordingly, that RESOLUTION NO. 2389 be adopted, authorizing the Mayor ?3tir to sign the Consent to the Assignment of the Leases. Carried, all Couhcilmen present voting aye on roll -call. Councilmen absent: Christman. Councilman Christman arrived. wi'Communcation from the Land Escrow and Safe Deposit Company relative to the County Tax Sale on the Ei of the El of a Sec. 105 and qb 4 106, Nat'l Ro., and Lots 604 to 607 og Lincoln acres Annex No. 4 and the cancellation of the City Taxes on the same. No action taken. '/City Assessor Dale Smith requested the addition of the wz of Lot 9 and 10, Block 237, City Platy to the 1942-1943 roll as the property is released by the County of San Diego by a quit claim deed to the Southern Title and Trust Company. Moved by Fritz, seconded by Newberry, that RESOLUTION N0. 2390 be adopted, authorizing the additio to the roll. Carried, all Councilmen present voting aye.on roll -call/ Councilmen absent: n:ne. 'x Report of the County Health department of the survey of the odors emanating from the industrial section ti4ith the opinion that the odorp coming from the dump and the new fill of dredged materials. City Clerk to notify Mikkelson and Bradley of the survey. J Request of the Chamber of Commerce for two directthonal signs on National Avenue. Moved by Newberry, seconded by Cordingly, that the signs be installed under the direction of the Street Sup't and 395 upon approval of the Staie Division of Highways. Carried, all Council- men present voting aye tzetaxiinsfatuckaimunazitzMnix ✓C.B.Ireland reported that R.L.Beuthel had contacted him by telephone in the afternoon on receipt of a telegtam from Sacramento riving the City permission to install the signals but that they could not be operated until the City complied with the state requirements on parking or on the overhead signal. Mr. Jolliff wantssto know if the City is going to buy the materials from him by the middle of the week. I/Moved b,- Christman, seconded by Cordingly, that Mr. Ireland advise Mr. Jolliff the City will take the material. Carried, by the following vote, to -wit: Ayes: Christman, Cordingly, Newberry, Thatchdr. Nayes: Councilmen Fritz. Absent: none. ,/ Request of A. Bussing to move a structure into the City frrm San Diego. Moved by Christman, seconded by Newberry, that the structure be allowed to move into National City if approved by the Building Inspector. Carried, all Councilmen present voting aye: , Councilmen absent: none. 'Chief of Police Knapp requested permission to purchase six police revolvers under a PD 1-a application for priority. Moved by Fritz, seconded by Newberry, that the permission be granted. Carried, all Councilmen present voting aye. Councilmen absent: none. 0/Discussion of the increase in salary for the City employees. Moved by Fritz, seconded by Cordingly, that the salary of the City Attorney for the monthly compensation of $ 150.00 be added to the Salary budget. Carried, all Councilmen present voting aye. Councilmen absent: none. COVED BY Newberry, seconded by Cordingly that RESOLUTION NOi 2391 be adopted, authorizing the increase in salary of all regular City employees as of July 1, 1942 .r'Carried;: all Councilmen present voting ayem 6n roll -call.
