called to order at 11:00 am on Saturday; saidmeeting called pursuant
to law and to the call by the Mayor of the City of National City

Please take notice that a special meeting of the City Council of the City of
National City, California, is hereby called by the undersigned Mayor of the said
City, and will be held in the chambers of the said City Council in the City Hall
in said City on Saturday, the loth day of January, 1942, at 11:00 OtClook A.M.
The purpose of said meeting will be the consideration of the tideland leases
and such other business as may be desired.

Dale Smith, being first duly sworn deposes end says, that he is and at all
times hereinafter mentioned was a citizen of the United States of America, over
the age of twenty-one and City Clerk of said City of National City, California;
that on the 9th day of January, 1942, and more than three hours before the time
designated in the foregoing notice and call for a special meeting of said City
Counoil, for the meeting therein referred to, affiant personally delivered in
said City -o each of the members of said City Council, a notioe whereof the fore-
going is a true Dopy.

Councilmen present: Cordingly, Newberry, Fritz, Thatcher.
Councilmen absent: Warner.
Administrative officials present- Smith, Johnson, Lamb.
1iequest of Newby and Newby for a 30 day extension of the
option on the tidelands, presented.
`Moved by Newberry, seconded by Cordingly, that RESOLUTION NO.'
2317 be adopted, granting a 30 day extension of the option to Newby
and Newby. Carried, all Councilmen present voting aye on roll -call.
Councilmen absent: Warner.
e/Mr. Tovares and Mr. Seabrook of the Tovares, Elliott -Stroud -
Seabrook Company present regarding the Allied Engineering and Ship
Building lease on the tidelands. The assignments and contracts on
same are to be submitted to the City Attorney by the Concrete Ship
Constructors.
Communication from the Commandants Office, Eleventh Naval
District, San Diego, regarding an informal permit or easement,
granting the Government a right-of-way to construct a railway track
on Garfield avenue from Division Street south to the Destroyer Base.
Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Newberry, that RESOLUTION NO. 2318
be adopted, granting the easement. Carried, all Councilmen present
voting aye on roll -call. Councilmen absent: Warner.
Being no further business, it was moved by Fritz, seconded
by Newberry, that the meeting adjourn. Carried, all Councilmen present
voting aye. Councilmen absent: Warner.
