The adjourned meeting of the City Council called to order by the
Mayor at 2:30 P.M. Councilmen present: Cordingly, Fritz, Warner,
Thatcher. Councilman Kilcrease absent.
Administrative officials present: Ireland, Bird, Knapp, Lamb.
6/Bills audited by the Finance Committee presented:
County of San Diego purchase of Bahia Vista $ 817.85
Moved by Fritz, seconded by Warner, that the bil] be allowed and
warrant drawn for same. Carried, all Councilmen present voting aye on
roll -call. Councilman Kilcrease, absent.
✓Mr. E.G.Merrill, Jr, of the Union:Title and Trust -Company and
Mr. Johnson of the Kelco Company, present regarding their options
on the tidelands. Mr. Merrill stated that his clients still desired
a 6';months option on an area 1000 feet by 1000 feet. Mr Johnson
stated that the Kelco option is up April 8, 1941 and that they did
not desire to stand in the way National Defense industry and asked
that they be considered in an option on a new area and also ar, c•pr1'c•n.
renewal of the present option; the renewal subject to the option n2
requested by Mr. Merrill. Discussion of terms of options.^Moved by
Fritz, seconded by Warner, that the City Attorney be authorized to
draw up a Resolution embodying the terms and conditions of the
options; said Resolution to be presented at the next regular meeting.
Carried, all Councilmen present voting aye on roll -call. Councilman
Kilcrease, absent.
1Mr. Merrill paid -the ._sum ,of $ 1.00 for the option.
'Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Warner, that the Kelco
retain their option on 300 feet for 90 days. Carried, all
present voting aye. Councilman Kilcrease absent.
Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Warner, that the Kelco

be given an option on 300 feet south of the south mole pier for a
period of 90 days; said option to be secondary to the lease on the
300 feet south of the north mole pier. Carried, all Councilmen

Rep rt of a Traffic Commission on petitions referred to them:

a1- Upon the petition for street light at llth and Roosevelt and
20th and Highland Avenue, the commission recommended that all requests
for street lights be filed pending the installations of the new
service plan.
�2.,Upon the petition of the Baptist Church for permission to erect
two directional signs, the commission recommended that the request
be granted under the direction of the Street Superintendent.

Commission be accepted. Carried, all Councilmen voting aye. Council-

'Moved by Warner, seconded by Cordingly, that the Baptist Church be
granted permission to erect the two directional signs. Carried, all
Councilmen present voting aye. Councilman Kilcrease absent.
Moved by Warner, seconded by Cordingly, that in the matter of street
lights, the recorimendation of the Commission be followed. Carried,
all Councilmen present voting aye. Councilman Kilcrease absent.
Moved by Warner, seconded by Britz, that further time be granted to
the Traffic Commission on the taxi -cab ordinance and that a letter be
written protesting AB 2103. Carried, all Councilmen present voting
aye. Councilman Kilcrease absent.
Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Eritz, that the following del-
inquent taxes be accepted without the seven percent interest and the
cancellation fee:
Union Title Insurance and Trust Co., the 1937, 1938 and 1939
taxes on Lots 13 and 14, Block 22, City Plat... $ 30.86
✓Mrs. Augusta Skinner the 1938 and 1939 taxes on Lots 3 and 21,
Block 2 of National Avenue Terrace Subd 17.94
`Allen S. Hetrick the 1936 tax on Lot 51, Block 4 of Paradena
Park Subdivision

Carri4d, all Councilmen present voting aye. Councilman Kilcrease
absent.
'Police Committee by Bert Warner, Chairman, reported that there
is no change of action recommended on the Nearly application for
license.
'Moved by Fritz, seconded by Warner, that RESOLUTION NO. 2222'be
a,�adopted, authorizing the City Tax Collector to exercise the option on
the Bahia Vista Subdivision from the County of San 'iiego. Carried,
all Councilmen present voting are on roll -call. Councilman Kilcrease

absent.
Being no further business, it was moved by Fritz, seconded by
Warner, that the meeting adjourn. Carried, all Councilmen present
voting aye. Councilmen absent: Kilcrease.
