the name of the petitioner. Moved by Cordingly and seconce;
by Kilcresse that the report of the Planning Commission be
accepted and plecea on file. Carried, all Councilmen present

iThe notice of Ltn application by the U. S. Navy for
mouification of the harbor lines presented. City Engineer
Ireland reported the same would require 22.7 acres of our tide-
lands to be taken off and would also require the relocation of
Harbor Drive from its tentative location but that as far as the
City was concerned there should be no objections.

Notice from Lt. Col. Euwin C. Kelton, ,gar Department, U.S.
Engineer's Office, of the approval of our application for per-
mission to dredge on the north side of the southerly mole type
pier presentee and ordered filed. Field copy of approval given
to C. B. Ireland, City Engineer.
'Request of the Board of Supervisors, County of San Diego,
that delinquent National City taxes be cancelled on certain
property, referred to the City Attorney.

cancelling warrant #27002 issued Nov. 19, 1940 to L. F. Acosta
for {j12.00 which has been lost and authorizing Warrant #2709L
to replace same, be adopted. Carried, all Councilmen voting
aye on roll -call. Councilmen absent: None.

City Attorney, Ashley Johnson reported the contract for
Sewer Connection for the Naval Housing Project, together with
a letter on the Sewer Connection fee had been sent to the Navy.
Matter still unaer negotiation.
1It was moved by Fritz, seconded by warner that Ben Edgerton
be ann inted to fill the vacancy on the Planning Commission,
appointment for six years. Mayor Thatcher appointed Gilbert
Fritz to represent the Council on the Planning Commission.
Moved by Warner, seconded by Kilcrease and Cordingly that
Res. No. 2182 autnorizing a cooperative agreement with the
County for the improvement of Palm Avenue et Fairmount and
Division, if and ,Then monies are available from the County
Road funas. Carried, all councilmen present voting aye on
roll -call. Councilmen absent: None.
City Council authorized the City Clerk, Dale Smith, to
request the County health Dept. to make the inspections of
the plumbing, gas, ana sewer connections. Said inspections
to be made pursugnt to our contract with the County.
Mayor Thatcher appointed the following committees:
Police: Chairman, Warner - Cordingly ana Fritz
Fire Chairmen, Kilcrease - Fritz ana Cordingly
Street & Park: Chairman, Coraingiy - Prarner ana Fritz
Finance: Chairmen, Fritz - Warner and Kilcrease
Ordinance -Public Health & Morels: Chairman, Kilcrease
Warner and Cordingly.
i City Engineer, C. B. Ireland, presented request of Mr.
Phil Scheuerman that the airt be removea from the north siae
of 4th Street between Laurel and Norton and be placed on J
Street from end St. to 3rd St. He reportea the property owners
were willin8 to deed 6o' for Street. Matter referred to Ireland
City Engineer.
/James Bird, Fire Chief, was granted permission to attend
the Chief's Convention January 18th and 19th.
/ Police Commissioner darner, recommendea that Franklin Reed
be given a probationary appointment, as of Jan. 1, 1941 at :a125.00
per month. Moved by Kilcrease, seconded by Cordingly that Res.
No. 218' be drawn up to that effect. Carried, all Councilmen
present voting aye on roLl-call. Councilmen absent; none.

a Motorcycle for the Police Dept., said cost to be 4450.00. All

Asa R. Webb, City Tax Collector and Treasurer sna Dale Smith,
City Clerk, were presented with recommendation that no protest
be made. Moved by ,Varner, seconded by Kilcrease that no protest
be made. Carrie°. All Councilmen present voting aye on roll -call
Councilmen: absent None.

aajourned. Carried.
