Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Kilcrease, that the warrants be
allowed. Carried, all Councilmen present voting aye. Councilmen absent:
none.
Mr. Louis May present to enter complaint that his requests for
help from the Police department are not answered. Chief Knapp stated
that h:s call was answered but that Mr. May could not be found. Mr.
May also stated that the sidewalks and curbs are being broken by
tree roots and suggested the abolishing of the trees.
✓Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Kilcrease, that the delinquent
taxes listed on pages 212A and 212B be accepted without the seven
percent interest and the cancellation fee. Carried, all Councilmen
present voting aye. Councilmen absent: none.

Southern California regarding a celebration for.,Californiatt 400th
anniversary, read and 'ordered filed.
Communication from the Sanborn Map company regarding National
Defense Maps, read and referred to the Fire Chief -ames A. Bird.
✓Application to purchase tax -deeded real property at public
auction submitted by Tax Collector Asa R. Webb, on lots 4, 5 and 24,
Block 3, National City Plat. Moved by Ccr dingly, seconded by Kilcrease
that the application be laid over for two weeks for investigati:n.

Letter of thanks from the Olivewood Club for help at the Annual
Flower show, read an ordered filed.
Notification of alcoholic Beverage license application of Van's
Market from the State Board of Equalization read. Chief Knapp stated
i that he had protested the application due to the fact that the store
!1cf.
ip is located directly across the street from the Congregational Church
and that the sale of liquor would create an unkholesome condition in
the neighborhood.IRev. Jones of the Congregational Church, on behalf
of the National City Ministerial Assn, the Congregational Church and
other churches of NatiCnal\City,requested the City Council to protest
the application. Movediby Warner, seconded by Cordingly, that

`/Chief Bird reported that it is necessary for him to attend a
meeting of the National Defense Board in regards to Fire prevention as
the San Diego County co-ordinator. Moved by Kilcrease, seconded by
Cordingly, that his expense be paid. Carried, all Councilmen present
voting aye. Councilmen absent: none.
Being no further business, it was moved by Cordingry, seconded by
Kilcrease, that the meeting adjourn. Carried, all Councilmen present
