Councilmen present: Kilerease, Thatcher, Werner, Councilmen absent: Cordingly and Bird. Administrative officials present: Ireland, Campbell, Ashley, Bates, Webb, Gautereaux and Lamb. Minutes of the feguale meeting of November 6, 1940 and the special meeting of November 12, 1940, read and -approved. Councilman Cordingly arrived during the reading of the minutes. Councilmen absent: Bird. v L.P.McLauchlan presented verbal request for lease on water- front.Mayor Thatcher requested that the map showing the prbposed lease and improvement in connection therewith be left for `c'- consideration end study by the City Council- the matter being laid over until the next meeting. i Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Kilcrease, that the request of the Fire Marshall for new fire hose under the Fire department budget be allowed providing the expenditure remains under $ 500.00. Carried all Councilmen present voting aye on roll -call. Councilman Bird absent. Moved by Warner, seconded by Kilerease, that the report be accepted end laid over until the next meeting. Carried, all Councilmen present voting eye. Councilmen absent: Bird. / Application for auction sale on tax -deeded properties presented by Tax Colleetor Asa R. Webb. Moved by Warner, seconded by Cordingly, that RESOLUTION NO. 2165 rejecting the bid of A. Ervast for Block 321, National city Plat, be adopted. Carried, all Councilmen present voting aye on roll -call. Councilmen absent: Bird. Moved by Warner, seconded by Cordingly, that RESOLUTION NO. 2166 approving the bid /of Anne Guenther on Lot 258, Lincoln Acres Annex No. 2, + See. 107, Nat'l Re.. be :adopted. After consideration by the Council, it was moved by Warner, seconded by Kilcrease, that no protest be filed. Carried, all Councilmen present voting aye: Councilman absent: Bird. / Communication from J.B. Ellicott enclosing the receipted for assessment no. 774 of the 1937 roll, which by error had not been detached and marked paid by the Tax Collector on the roll. Moved by Kilcrease, seconded by Cordingly, that RESOLUTION NO. 2168 be adopted, striking the sale to the City on Lot 1, Block 142, City Plat from the records, authorizing the cancellation of the delinquen entry from the Clerk's records and adjusting the Tax Collectors records for the 1937 roll. Bird. / Upon the request of City Clerk :gale Smith, it was moved by ,' 16 Kilcrease, seconded by Cordingly, that RESOLUTION NO. i865, authorizing the following adjustments on the 1940-1941 roll be adopted: Adjust the value of lots 9, 10 end 11, Block 2, Victoria Heights Subdivision from $ 250 each to $ 200 each, inasmuch as the Board of Equalization had authorized the same and ordering the'taxes computed on the new values. Authorizing the addition of Lot 7, Rose Arbor Tract to be assessed to Flora Wellhoener- assessed value of $ 175- taxes $ 2.89. xxxxkxi, Carried, all Councilmen present voting aye on roll -call. Council- men absent: Bird. /Moved by Warner, seconded by Cordingly, that the installation of gas be authorized for the City Garage and Pound. Carried, ell Councilmen present voting eye on roll -call. Councilmen absent: Bird. ✓Councilman Warner requested that a survey be made of the 24g$ting at 8th end National Avenue and 9th and National Avenue to increase the visibility at the two intersections. So ordered. Moved by Kilcrease, seconded by Cordingly, that the following transfers be authorized: 155 r7 From the Unapp Tax Fund, the sum of $ 12,459.14, distributed as follows: To the General Fund $ 7,551.00 To the Library Fund 981.63 To the Park M & I Fund 1,057.14 To Sink Fund No. 4 1,132.65 To Sink Fund No. 6 1,396.93 To Sink Fund No. 7 339.79 Carried, all Councilmen present voting aye. Councilmen absent: Bird. Moved by Bilerease, seconded by Cordingly, that RESOLUTION NO. 2170, authorizing certain increase in the polary schedule, be adopted. Carried, ell Councilmen present voting aye on roll -call. Councilmen absent: Bird. City Attorney Campbell submitted a new option for the purchase of the Bahia Vista Subdivision in the City of National City, at $ 10.10 per lot. Moved by Bilerease, seconded by Warner, that RESOLUTION NO. 2171, authorizing the option, be adopted. Carried, all Councilmen present voting eye on roll -call. Councilmen absent: Bird. i Mayor Thatcher appointed Couneilmen Werner to the Finance Committee. 'Mr. B.J.Geutereaux, Park Sup't, reported that the two trees In front of the Library are to be removed. 'City Attorney Campbell reported that the United States Government has requested an Abstract of Title end Deed on the tide- lands be furnished them by the City and that he has staetednon the abstract. Being no further business, it was moved by Bilerease, seconded by Cordingly, that the meeting adjourn. Carried, all Councilmen present voting aye. Councilmen absent: Bird.
