National City, Calif. Aug. 19, 1919.
Regular meeting of the Board of Trustees called to
order by the President. Trustees present,- Cordingly,
Snook, Crandall and Hertel. Weisser absent.
Minutes of regular meeting August 5, 1919, read and
approved.
The following bills audited by a majority of the
Fiance Committee presented;

Moved by Crandall, seconded by Snook that bills be
allowed and warrants ordered drawn for the same. Carried
all Trustees present voting aye.
.Mrs. Abby G. Baldwin present and petitioned Board.to"_allow
her to remove trees on 14th Street, adjoining her property
and agreod to plant Black Acacia. Moved by Cordingly, seconded
Crandall that petition be granted. Carried.
,Communication from 'he California Library Association,
regarding salaries, read and ordered filed.
.Mr. H. W. Rohlfs present and asked for license to open
pool hall on 3th Street, between lst. Ave. , and National Ave.
Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Snook th-t it be referred to
the Health and Morals Committee. Carried.
-Communication from the San Diego County Highway Commission
regarding paving portion og Highland Avenue read and City
Clerk instructed to answer same.
Petition of the National City News, asking for fee for
publishing proceedings of the Board and other matters read.

Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Snook that it be referred to
Finance Committee. Carried.
:Petition of Pete Geiler for increase of salary to $4.00
par day read. Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Crandall that
petition of Pete Geiler be granted, effective Sept. 1, 1919.
Carried all Trustees present voting aye.
-Option of the San Diego Land Corporation, on lot 1,
block 135, Plat, read and ordered filed.
,Easements for sewer from A. G. and Jane S. Williams,
and Helen M. Steele, to the City of National City, presented.
Moved by Crandall, seconded by Cordingly that City Clerk be
instructed to have same recorded. Carried all Trustees present
voting aye.
Moved by Snook, seconded by Cordingly that Board adjourn.
Carried.
