Regular meeting of the Board of Trustees called to
order by the President. Trustees present,- Cordingiy,
Snook, Crandall and Hertel. Weisser absent.
Minutes of regular meeting of Feb. 4, 1919, read
and approved.
The following bills, audited by a majority of the
Finance Committee presented. Moved by Crandall, seconded
by Snook that bills be allowed and warrants ordere9 drawn
for the same. Carried, all Trustees present voting aye:

. Mr. A. 7. n;per_ was present and asked that he be
granted a pool license on 6th avenue between 18th and 19th
Streets. Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Snook that it
be referred to the Health and Morals ^omriittee. Carried,
all Trustees present voting aye!
Communication from assemblyman Doran acknowledging
receipt of copy of letter favoring increasing the limit of
taxation, was read and ordered filed.
• Communication from the City of Los Angeles relative
to an amendment cf the Motor Vehicle Act, was read and
ordered filed.
Resignation of G. L. Hooker, Superintendent of Streets,
effective ,larch 15, 1919, was read. Moved by Cordi ng1y,
seconded by Snook that the resignation be accepted. Carried,
all Trustees present voting aye.
Moved by ^.randall, seconded by Snook that the Board of
Trustees extend a vote of thanks to Mr. Hooker for his
efficient care of the streets. Carried.

• The City Clerk reported he_hMd received from the
Home Telephone lo. $22.00 in payment of 2% of earnings
for year ending Sept. 30, 1918; also a check from the
State Compensation Insurance Fund of $94.20, as final
refund of the 1915 policy, and that checks have been
deposited with Treasurer.
. Report of City Recorier For the month of January,
1919, was read and ordered filed.
Communication from the State Committee on readjust-
ment, San Francisco, was read and ordered filed.
. Mr. 0. F. M. Howard was present advocating a system
of street pavina for the City, to be done by a bond issue.
The Tree Committee reported they would grant Mr.
Montijo permission to trim the one limb of tree that hangs
over road, but not balance. Clerk instructed to notify him.
• The following, submitted by the Health & Morals
Committee, relative to the application of Montijo & Lepiz
fnr pool license, was read:
"WHFPFAS, we believe that National City
already has more pool halls than can be
honestly supported by the present popu-
lation,-
We recommend that the application of
Montijo ..nd Lepiz for a permit to run a
pool hall be denied.
Health & Morals Committee".
. Moved by lot -Jingly, seconded by Crandall that the
application of Montijo and Lepiz for pool license be
denied. Carried, all Trustees present voting aye.
• Bond of W. 3. Willis, Plumber, presented. Moved by
Crandall, seconded by Snook that the Bond be approved.
Carried, all Trustees present voting aye.
Moved by Crandall, seconded by Cordingly that the
request to piit in punch boards be denied. Carried, all
Trustees present voting aye.

following named citizens be appointed members of the
Board of Health: Raymond Hill, Mrs. Sue M. Hebert,
A. 3.Kimball and C. B. Ireland. Carried, all Trustees
present voting aye.
Moved by Crandall, seconded by Cordingly that 'fir.
S. H. Garrick be appointed City Recorder. Carried, all
Trustees present voting aye.
Moved by Snook, seconded by Crandall that Board
adjourn. Carried.
