Regular meeting of the Board of Trustees called to
order by the President. Trustees present,- Cordingly,
Snook and Hertel. Weisser and Crandall absent.
Minutes of regular meeting of Feb. 18, 1919 read and
anproved.
The following bills presented: Moved by Snook, seconded
by Cordingly that bills be allowed and warrants ordered
drawn for the same. Carried,

• Petition of Brooks & Martina for transfer of pool
license issued to Pollard & Mulholtatid was read- . Moved by
Cordingly, seconded by Snook that the City Clerk be in-
structed to transfer license of Pollard and Mulholand to
Brooks & Martina.
Carried, all Trustees present voting aye.
Communication from League of California Municipalities
relative to the _proposed amendment to the Motor Vehicle
License tax was read and ordered filed.

• Communication from the Railroad Commission giving date
of hearing of the application of the San Diego Flectric
Railway Company .n the matter of rates, as March 25; 1919,
was read and ordered filed.
Resignation cf Fred Jenks as City Engineer to take
effect immediately was read. moved by Cordingly, seconded
by Snook that resignation be accented. Carried, all Trustees
present voting aye.
• Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Snook that Mr. a.. F.
Upper be granted license to operate a pool hall on 6th Ave.
between loth and 19th Streets. Carried, all Trustees present
voting aye.
Report of the Recorder for the month of February,1919 was
read and ordered filed.
, applications of Fugene F. Donn, Perry C. Gallup and
C. ?. Hills for position of Superintendent of Streets, were
read. Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Snook that Perry C.
Gallup be appointed Street Superintendent, to take effect
the 15th day of March, 1919. Carried, all Tr„etees present
voting .:ye.

Ireland be appointed City Engineer, effective March 5,
1919. Carried. all Trustees present voting aye.
• Moved by Snook, seconded by ^,ordingly that the motion
to appoint C. E. Ireland as City Engineer be reconsidered.
Carried, all Trustees present voting aye.
. Moved by Snook, seooncie-i by Cordingly that C. 3.
Ireland be appointed City Engineer, effective March 7,
1919. Carried, al] Trustees present voting aye.
✓ • Resolution io. 562. indorsing -the proposed Constitution
for the League of Nations, was read. Moved by Snook,
seconded by Cordingly that resolution be adopted. Carried,
all Trustees present voting aye. Resolution as follows:

i"'"'Ar, the proposed constitution for the (,ea^ue of
Nations will soon be before the united States senate for its
approval or rejection; and
WHFRRAS, in the opinion of the Board of Trustees of the
City of National City, California, the approval of said con-
stitution by the Senate of the TTnited States will tend to
promote the peace and welfare of the entire world; and
WHrRFAS, said Board believes that it is nraotically the
unanimous opinion of the citizens of this City that said
constitution should be approved without unnecessary delay,
NOW THrPFFORr, ?R IT RF'SOLVr C, That the Board of Trustees
cf the City of National City, California, respectrully urge,the
Senators of the United States representing the State of
California to do all in their power to obtain an early approval
of eaii constitution by the TTnited States senate;
AND Br IT r,T•RTHrR RrPOLVrD That this Resolution be spread
upon the Minutes of this Board and that a copy thereof be
sent by the Clerk of this City to each of the TTnited States
Senators of the State of California.
