Regular meeting of the Board of Trustees called to
order by the ?resident. Trustees present,-Cordingly, Snook,
Weisser and Hertel. Crandall late.
minutes of meeting of April 15th read and approved.
The Pres.'ient then announced the following as the
standing committees for the ens -ling term:
Finance & Accounts,- Weisser,Crandall & Snook.
Streets & Public Property,-Cordingly,Crandall & Snook.
Water Supply & Fire Department,-Snook,Cordirgly & Crandall.
Ordinance,Public Health & Morals,-Crandall,Weisser & Cordingly.
Transportation,-Snook,Weisser & Crandall.
Trees, -Crandall, Snook & Cordingly.
The following bills, audited by a mazority of the Finance
Committee, presented. Moved by Weisser, seconded by Cordingly,
that bills be allowed and warrants ordered drawn for the same.
Carried, all Trustees present voting aye.

6 reeuest to trim trees in front of Dr. Johnson's
property on 5th Ave. between 19th & 20th Streets, on motion
by Cordingly, seconded by Snook, was referred to the Tree
Committee. Carried.
Communication from Trustee 7eisser, surtgesting Public
Improvements, was real. Moved by Cordingly, seconied by Snook
that communication be filed. Carried.
Applications of C. P. Hille, F. Jurjens and P. H. ".Vans,
for position of City Marshal, were read. Moved by Cordingly,
seconded by Snook that the petitions be received and filed.
Carried.
Moved by lordingly, seconded by 7aisser that the matter
of releasing Bond of Jerry O'Connell as cement Contractor,
be referred to the City Attorney. Carried.
Report of the Fire Chief for the ouarter ending March 31,
1918, was read. Moved by Weisser, seconded by Snook that it be
received and filed. Carried.
Bond of City Clerk O. A. Mullen was presented. Mated by
Weisser, seconded by Cordingly that the Bond be approved.
Carried, all Trustees present voting aye.
Ordinance No. repealing Ordinance No. 479, fixing
compensation of Officers and employees, etc., was
introduced
by 7ei$ser, seconded by lordingly that it behlaid
the rules. Curried.
Ordinance No. fixing the compensation and its mode
of payment of certain officers and employees of the City of
National 'City, was read. Trustee Crandall arrived. Moved
by Cordingly, seconded by Snoo'r- that the Ordinance be introduced
and laid over under the rules. Carried by the following vote;
