Regular meeting of the Board of Trustees called to
order by the President. Trustees present, -Evans, Cordingly,
Weisser, Howard. Crandall absent.
Minutes of adjourned meeting of Jan. 21,1916 read,
corrected and approved.
The following bills, audited by a majority of the
Finance Committee presented. Moved by Weisser, seconded by
Evans that bills be allowed and warrants ordered drawn for
the same. Carried, all Trustees

Moved by Frans, seconded by Weisser, that a committee
be appointed to prepare plans for the improvement of the
Sweetwater Road. Carried by the following vote: £yes, -Evans,
Weisser and Howard. Nay,-Cordingly. The President appointed
the following as a committee: Trustees Crandall, Evans and
Weisser.
Mr. Alfred Williams Jr.reouested permission to remove
trees in front of his property.Moved by Evans, seconded by
cordingly that the reouest be granted. Carried.

10 Moved by Rvans, seconded b7 Weisser, that Mr. Hodgman
be allowed to top trees tn front of his property on 4th Ave.
Carried.
Copy of communication from the Secretary of the Navy
Josephus Daniels to the Hon. James D. Phelan,acknowledging
receipt of copy of Resolution NO. 547,adopted b7 the Board
of Trustees of National City, was read and ordered filed.
Petition of Mary J. McCormick to remove a tree was
read. Moved b^ Weisser, seconded by Rvans that the petition
be granted. Carried.
Moved by Weisser, seconded by roans that Mr. McKinley
be given permission to remove tree at 7th Street and G. Avenue.
Carried.
Petition of J. W. Hallock to remove trees on D. Avenue,
was read. Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Weisser that petition
be granted. Carried.
Moved by Weisser, seconded by ?vans that the City Clerk
be and he is hereby designated as the officer of the City
to whom complaints shall be made that street lights are not
burning, and sail Clerk is also hereby designated as the
officer to notify the light Co. of said fact and to keep a
10 record of the date of said notice. Carried.
The City Attorney reported that the City Attorney of
San Diego had agreed to leave the settlement of the appli-
cation of the San Diego Consolidated Gas & Rlectric Co. for
an increase of rates to the Railroad lommission without
further hearing, and that he had been requested to agree to
the proposition. Moved by Cordingly, seconded by ?vans, that
the City Attorney be in'tructed to act in conjunction with
the City Attorney of San Diego. Carried, all Trustees present
voting aye.
Moved by Cordingly,eeconded by Fvans that the matter of
a waiting station at the City Limits be referred to the
Transportation Committee. Carried.
41.
Ordinance No. 481, making it unlawful to trim or
certain
destroy any trees in the streets +vithout permission of the
Board of Trustees, was placed on final passage, and on
motion by Cordingly, seconded by Rvans, same adopted, all
Trustees present voting aye.
The City engineer was instructed to prepare plans
and specifications for the improvement of the Highland avenue
and 24th Street Bridges, and report at next meeting.
Moved by Cordingly,seconded by Rvans that Board
adjourn. Carried.
