There being no quorum, the Board adjourned to Wednesday, March 20, 1918, at 7:30 o'clock P.M. City Clerk. National City, Calif.,March 20, 1918. Adjourned meeting of the Board of Trustees called to order by the City Clerk. Trustees present,-Fv ns,Cordingly and Crandall. Moved by Fvans, seconded by Cordingly that Trustee Crandall act as President pro tem. Carried. Minutes of regular meeting of March 5th and March 19th read and approved. Trustee Weisser arrived. The following bills, audited by a majority of the Finance 10 Committee, presented. Mgvod by Fvans, seconded by Cordingly, 1 that bills be allowed and «rarrarts ordered drawn for the same. Communication from the N.K.Fairbanks Co., in retard to advertising Gold Duet Washing Powder, was read. Moved by Cordingly, seconded by 'vans that petition be •denied. Carried. Petition of W.T.Cleghorn to remove trees at corner of 7th Street and I. Ave. was read. Moved by Weisser, seconded by Cordingly, that the petition be referred to the tree committee with power to act. Carried. Rachel A. F•vans reruested permission to trim trees at 18th Street and 5th Ave. Otto Stang recuested permission to trim trees on 18th Street between 5th & 6th noes. I. Padgett reouested permission to take out trees on loth Street between 2nd and 3rd. fives' Moved by Cordingly, -econded by Weisser that reeuests be referred to the tree committee ivth power to act. Carried. Report of the City rngineer of expenditures for the past four years (1914,1915,1916 and 1917), was read. Moved by Evans, seconded by Weisser, that it be received and filed.C-rried. The tree committee reported they had given Mrs.Sloan per- mission to trim trees and had granted the Pacific Telephone lo. permission to trim a portion of trees recuested. Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Evans that the City Marshal be instructed to loan revolver to Mr. Pacaud. Carried. Ordinance No. 482,amending Sec. 1 of Or•d. No.479,fixing compensation of City Clerk,was placed on final passage, and on motion by 9eisser,secon-ded by Cordingly,same adepted,all Trustees present voting aye.
