National City, Calif. July 3, 1917.
Regular meeting of the Board of Trustees called to
order by the President. Trustees present,- Evans, Cordingly,
Weisser and Howard. Crandall absent.
Minutes of regular meeting of June 19th read ar.d
approved.
The following bills, audited by a mujority of the
Finance Committee presentee. Moved by Weisser, seconded by
F.var.e , that the bills be allowed and warrants ordered drawn
for to same. Carried,

Law passed by the recent Legislat',re providing for signs at
crossings, etc. was read and referred to the lity attorney.
Petition of Howie & Bollard for the removal of trees
on F.avenue between 31st and 32nd Streets :vas real, and
referred to the Street Superintendent to report on at the
next .meeting.
The quarterly reports of the City Clerk, Treasurer,
Marshal, Fire Chief and Recorder were read. Moved by Evans
Seconded by Cordingly that reports be received and filed.

The City Attorney reported that San Diego had not
adopted an ordinance governing the weight of bread, and
that he had not prepared one yet.
Ordin,:nce No. 473, relating to and regulating
Plumbing and Prescribing conditions under which Plumbing
may be carried on, was placed on final passage. Moved by
Fvnns, seconded by Cordingly that certain amendments read
be adopted. Ca tied, all Trustees present voting aye.
Moved by F.vans, seconded by Cordingly that ordinance as
amended be adopted. Carried, all Trustees present voting aye.
The President appointed the members of the Health
and Morals Committee as a committee to work with the City _
F.ng1neer in connection with the Sewer Proposition.
Moved by Fvane, seconded by Cordingly that the sum
of 09.65 be transferred from the General Fund to Sinking
Fund No. 2, and that the City CClerf and City Treasurer be
instructed to make the proper entries upon their books.
Carried, all Trustees present voting aye.
Resolution No. 538,• authorizing the payment of Bonded
Indebtedness, due July 1, amounting to $815.63 was read.
Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Fvans that Resolution be
adopted. Carried, e.11 Trustees present voting aye.
The City Attorney was instructed to report as to the
conditions of the streets west of 7th Avenue from 1st to
16t. Streets.
Budget of the rational City Library was read and
ordered filed.
Resolution No. 539, instructing the Engineer to
prepare plans, specifications and estimates of the cost for
the grading of 5th Street, from the Fast line of end Avenue
to the West line of J. Avenue, was read. Moved by Cordingly
seconded by Weisser that Resolution be adopted. Carried,
all Trustees present voting aye.

Resolution t<o. 540, regarding a plat of the Sweetwater
Road, prepared by the City Engineer, file 1:0. S."'.Rd. Oct.
1916, was read. 'loved by Cordingly, seconded by Weisser,
that Resolution be adopted.
Moved by r^.vans, seconded by lordingly, that Board
adjourn. Carried.
