Regular meeting of the Board of Trustees called to
order by the President. Trustees present,-Fvans, Cordingiy,
Weisser, Crandall and Howard.
Minutes of regular meeting of august 21st. read and
approved.
The following bills, a+:dited by the Finance Co^'^'ttee
presentee. Moved by Weisser, seconded by Crandall that bills
be allowed and warrants ordered ira'vn for the same.

Communication from the State Compensation Insurance Fund,
enclosing check for $18.62, refand on the 1910 earned premium,
was read and clerk stated money hal been depoe'.ted with the
Treasurer. ;roved by Coriinoly, seconded by FvanR that com-
munication be received and filed. Carried.
Communication from the City of Santa Rosa relative to the
session of the League of Call orni.i Municipalities, to be held
September 24 to 23th, 1917 was

sub;ect-Official 'Call, 20th annual Conventi n, was read. Moved

IP Resignation of T. J. Prescott, as City nttorney was read.
Moved by Cordin7ly, seconded by Crandall that the resignation
be accepted. Carried.
Mr. Howard was compelled to leave and Trustee Crandall
was called to the Chair.
Application. of Mr. Johnson T. Puter'ouucn for the position
of City Attorney was read and ordered filed.
Application of ',Tr. Pay M. Harris for the position of
City Attorney was read anti ordered filed.
Report of the City Recorder for the months of July and
August was read and ordered filed.
Communication from Trustee Weisser, calling attention
of the Board to the apparent discrepancies in the management
of the Street Penartrent, etc. Was read. Moved by Weisser,
seconded by Wvar.s that the report be ;nvestigated by a com-
mittee appriated by the Chair. Carried. The follcw-Ing were
a^pointed as such committee: Trustee7Howard, ?vans and Crandall.
An easement for a public street known aS the Sweetwater
Road, signed by the following owners: Frederick F. and Louise
Bottger, 'Willis and Fmma B. Cannon, 77illiam and Carrie Fee and
The San Diezo Land Corporation by John F. Bo..l and F. S.
Jennings, was presented. Moved by Weisser, seconded by rvans
that same be accepted and Clerk be instructed to have same
recorded. Carried.
Resolution No. 542, making application to the State
Board of Health for a permit to deposit and discharge into
the Say of Sun Diego, sewage, was read. Moved by Weisser,
seconded by Cordingly that Resolution be adopted. Carried, all
Trustees present voting aye.
Ordinance No. fixing the rata and levying the
taxes for the fiscal year 1917-1918 was introduced. Moved by
Weisser, seconded by Fvans that it be laid over under the
rules. Carried.
Resignation of G. L. Hooker,Supt. of Streets was read
and laid o•,er to an adjourned meeting.

adjourn to Tuesday, September 11th at 7:30 o'clock P.M.
Carried.
