Carried, by the following vote to -wit: Ayes: Councilmen, Kilcrease, Thatcher, Bird. Nayes: none Absent: Councilman Cordingly, Councilman Warner. 251 Communication from Ralph Chapman requesting a refund of money paid for a license for a dice game which was denied by the Chief of Police, read. Moved by Kilcrease, s econded by Thatcher, that the refund he granted. Carried, all Councilmen present voting aye. Councilman Cordingly and Councilman Warner absent. Moved by Kilcrease, seconded by Thatcher, that the following delinquent tax be accepted without the seven percent interest or the cancellation fee: Manuel Colin the 1930-31-32 tax on Lots 6 and 7, Block 207, City Plat 3 63.95 'Joseph S. Smbth the 1936 and 1937 tax on lots 13 and 14, Block 2, City Plat. $ 44.07 Mrs. L. Communication ordered filed. / Communication f rom Faulkner, Oakes and Faulkner regarding the annual audit, read and ordered filed. City Attorney requested further time for the drafting of the Plasterer's Code. Granted. -Upon the petition for a street light at loth Street and E Avenue which was presented at the March 21st meeting, it was moved by Thatcher, seconded by Kilcrease, that the street light be installed. Carried, all Councilmen present voting aye on roll -call. Councilman Cordingly and Councilman Warner, absent. 'City Engineer Ireland reported that a street light was needed at 9th Street and Coolidge Avenue as requested in petition presente( at March 21st meeting. Moved by Kilcrease, seconded by Thatcher, that astreet_light be installed at 9th Street and Coolidge Avenue. Carried, all Councilmen present voting a -ye on roll -call. Councilman 252 Cordingly and Councilman Warner. 'Legislati ze Bulletin No. 7 of the League of California Municipalities read and three telegrams ordered sent in response to request in bulletin. City Attorney Campbell reported that a suit to quiet title has been filed against the City of National City by the Geo. Burnham Company and he recomnende4 that no action be taken bar the City and allow the suit to go by default. --Moved by Thatcher, seconded by Kilcrease, that the City Attorney be instructed to take no action on the suit and allow it to go by default. Carried, all Councilmen present voting aye. -City Enginner Ireland reported tent red reflectors have been installed at the end of E Avenue at loth Street. Chief of Police Knapp reoorte'' that two of the police cars nees replacing or extensive repairs.
