Councilmen absent: none. / Report of the Planning Commission on the petition of property owners protesting the closing of "A" and"B" Avenues from 18th St to 19th Streets and requesting the openin of these avenues to the full eighty foot width: Planninr Commission reconniended that the matter of eminent domain be referred to the City Attorney. After sorne discussio: the eminent domain proceedings were referred to the City Attorney for 254 costs. The opening of "A" Avenue on the $-'-st side o1 the street to a forty foot width was referred to the City Engineer. ,Notice of application for a permit to construct a pier and dredge by the Harbor Department of San Diego.fron the War Department read and ordered filed. --Notice of the Eleventh Annual Institute of Government at the University of Southern California, read and ordered filed. -Dividend check in the amount of $ 480.70 from the State Compensation Insurance Fund received by Clerk and ordered deposited. copies of Cornruunication from Senator E3 Fletcher enclosing/two bills which has passed the Senate-, read and ordered filed. Councilmen absent: none. /Oral request from the 9ay Furniture Company by Earl t'Jade for a` special permit to erect a ramp across the alley in Block four of the City Plat. City Attorney recommended that the request be referred to the Planning Commission and the Police department. After some discussion, it was moved by Kilcrease, seconded by Cordingly, that a special permit be granted for the ramp, revocable at will of the City Council and further providing for the painting of black and whit stripes on the ramp and the placing of three red reflectors on side towards 4th Street. Carried, all Councilmen present voting aye. Councilmen absent; none. /Request of H.J.Hardy = or a permit to operate two card tables to be located at the Bayview Social Club, 1820 Taft Avenue, National City, read and referred to the Chief of Police. It was moved by Cordingly, seconded by Kilcrease, that the following delinquent taxes he accented without the seven percent 255 interest or the cancellation fee: 'So. Councilmen absent: none. ,Sup't of Parks Street, prohibiting. to a point south of Gautereaux requested thn signs be placed on 14th parking, especially in the area from Nat'l Ave the bleachers. City Attorney instructed to prepare an Ordinance prohibiting- parking on 14th Street from 1dat'1 Avenue to D Avenue. Councilman Warner excused. /Mr. Gautereaux also requested an appropiation for a practice board on the tennis courts and some supplies for recreation projects at the Casa de Salud. Moved by Thatcher, seconded by Cording-y, that an appropiation of $ 50.00 be given to Mr. Gautereaux to be paid out of the Park Main 4nd Imp. Fund. Carried, all Councilmen present voting aye on roll -call. Councilman Warner absent. Owing meeting of Kilcrease, to the special election falling on the next regular the City Council,it was moved by Thatcher, seconded by that the meeting- adjourn until 7:30 P.M. on Monday, the first day of May, 1939.
