Moved by Kilcrease, seconded by Warner, that the bills be allowed
and warrants drawn for same. Carried, all Councilmen present voting
aye on roll -call. Councilman Cordingly absent.
Request of the 0livewood Club for a donation of $ 50.00 for the
Annual Flower show presented. Moved by Warner, seconded by Kilcrease,
that the donation of $ 50.00 be allowed. Carried, all Councilmen
present voting aye on roll -call. Councilman Cordingly absent.
Moved by Warner, seconded by Kilcrease, that the following
delinquent taxes be accepted without the seven percent interest and
the cancellation fee:

Recommendation of the City Planning Commission that the petition
of Clifford Ellis to construct a garage on the property line of Lot
3, Block 2, Austin EIeights be granted; and that the petition of E.
Friedrick to contruct an alteinate type dwelling of over 400 Square
feet on the W 50' of E 280' of E* of Si of Ni of 20 Acre Lot 1, * Sec
131, Nat'l Ro.. be granted. Moved by Warner, seconded by Kilcrease,
that RESOLUTION NO. 2017, accepting the recommendations of the
Planning Commission and granting the petitions, be accepted. Carrie;,
all Councilmen present voting aye on roll -call. Councilman Cordingly
absent.
'Notice of application of the San Diego Board of Harbor
Commissioners for War Department permit to construct a live bait
tank mooring, read and ordered filed.
✓Request of Pete Vanderpool for permission to install three
550 gallon tanks for gasoline at 18th st and Palm Avenue, read.
Moved by Kilcrease, seconded by Warner, that the installation be
permited under the supervision of the Fire Marshall. Carried, all
Councilmen present voting aye.
'Upon the statement of the City Clerk, that a check of $ 63.53
made payable to Dorman's had been drawn in excess of contract price,
it was moved by Thatcher, seconded by Warner, thatRESOLUTION NO.
2018, cancelling Warrant No. 25360, register No. 4469, of February
7, 1939 payable to Dorman's in the amount of $ 63.53, be accepted.
Carried, all Councilmen present voting aye on roll -call. Councilman
Cordingly absent.
Moved by Kilcrease, seconded by Thatcher, that the application
of Henry C. Wood for a veteran's license, be granted. Carried, all
Councilmen present voting aye.
Moved by Warner, seconded by Thatcher, that the following
transfersbe made:

$ 1,163.67 from the Sp; Del. Tax Fund to the General Fund.
/ p 161.36 from the General Fund to Sinking Fund No. 7, ss a loan
to prevent default in interest due Feb. 20, 1939.
Carried, all Councilmen present voting aye.
,i City Engineer Ireland reported that he has been unable to
find anyone willing to take out the trees on the alley between 4th
and 5th Sts and East of D Avenue, for the wood. No further action
taken.
✓ Mr. "Ireland reported that the County will continue the flume
on Paradise Creek if the City will release jurisdiction. Moved by
Thatoher;"seconded'by'Warner,"that RESOLUTION N0. 2019, releasing
jurisdiction to certain property within the City of National City
to the County of San Diego for flood control purposes, be accepted.
Carried, all Councilmen present voting aye on roll -call. Councilman
Cordingly absent.
ORDINAPCE NO. , amending Ord, 623 entitled" An Ordinance
providing for licensing certain businesses, providing penalties
for violation thereof and repealing ordinances in conflict therewith"
providing for a new license rate for Junk and Auto wrecking dealers
presented for first reading by City Attorney Campbell. Moved by
Warner, seconded by Thatcher and Kilcrease, that the Ordinance be
introduced and laid over, under the rules and according to law.
Carried, all Councilmen present voting aye on roll -call. Councilman
'dordingly absent.
/City Engineer Ireland reported that the mean high tide line
from the north City Limits to the South City limits has been
established by his office and is now ready for acceptance by the City
iMayor Bird announced that there will be an Olympic Committee
meeting Monday night, the 27th of February, at 8:00 o'clock P.M.
Being no further business, it was moved by Kilcrease, seconded
by Thatcher, that the meeting adjourn. Carried, all Councilmen
present voting aye.
