A regular meeting of the City Council called to order
by the Mayor. Councilmen present: Cordingly, Kilcrease, Warner,
Bird. Councilman Thatcher absent.
Minutes of the previous meeting of December 20, 1938, read
and approved.

laid over until the next meeting. Carried, all Councilmen present
voting aye.

Delegation from the W.P.A. workers present a 4c ing for projects
in National City so that they can work at home instead of being sent,
to outlaying areas. City Engineer Ireland read the rules and regulation
imposed by the Government governing the application of projects and
also stated that he has tried to secure projects for National City but
has been turned down.
' Warren Thomas presentand asked that the City Council consider the
license for milk trucks under the new Ordinance.
-"Report of the City Tax Collector Asa R. Webb of taxes
collected to date with comparative data as of last year, read and
ordered filed.
Communication from the National City Library Board regarding
the condition of the gas heaters read and referred to the Custodian
of Public Buildings, Mr. Ireland.
."Notification from the State Board of Equalization of the
applications of Leonard Lathrop, Glenn Glasford, and Murrel M. Talley.
Moved by Kilcrease, seconded by Cordingly, that the City Council go
on record as opposing the grRnting of an Off -sale Beer and Wine
license to Murrel M. Talley on the grounds that a church is, located
in the same building, that it will be injurious to the Public
welfare and morals and that the. property owners in the surrounding
area have petit Toned in protest;. and that the State ''oard be so
notified. Carried, all Councilmen present voting aye.

Upon the approval of the Chief of Police, it was moved by
Warner,,seconded by Kilcrease, that the application of Ed. McConely
for three card tables, be granted. Carried, all Councilmen present
Voting aye.
Moved by Kilcrease, seconded by Cordingly, that the following
delinquent taxes be accepted without the seven percent interest or
the cancellation fee:

transfers of funds be authorized:

Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Kilcrease, that the City take
a membership in the San Diero Chamber of Commerce and donate the sum
of $ 10.00 per month to the San Diero-California Club. Carried, all
Councilmen present voting ave on roll -call.
--Moved by Warner, seconded by Cordingly, that the City Attorney
be instructed to amend the auto wrecking yard license ordinance.
Carried, all Councilmen present voting aye.
/Announcement of the January meeting of the San Diego County
Division of the League of California Municipalities to be held at
Chula vista on January 6th, 1939.
Being.no farther business, it was moved by Cordingly, seconded
by Kilcrease, that the meeting adjourn: Carried, all Councilmen present
voting aye.
