allowed and warrants drawn for same. Carried, all Councilmen
present voting aye on roll -call. Councilmen absent: none.
Petition for the removal of Vasquez Dairy read. Citizens
presented oral explanation. Petition referred to the Health
Department and the Planning Commission.
Petition for a street light at corner of loth Street and E
Avenue, read. Petition referred to the City Engineer and the
Street Committee.
Oral request for reflectors at end of E Avenue at 10th Street
/ referred to the City Engineer.
Communication regatding the improvement of the soft -ball

/Communication from the Goodwill Industries requesting a:free
business license. Moved by Warner, seconded by Thatcher, that the
request be granted. Carried, all Councilmen present voting aye.
-Petition for street light at Cooldige Avenue and Ninth Street
referred to the Finance Committee.
Notice from State Board of Equalization of application for
0n Sale Beer and Wine by Windy's Galley, read and ordered filed.
/Co:mnuhication from Senator Ed. Fletcher regarding bill on
illegal parking, requesting support in the Assembly, read. Ordered
filed.
'Request of the Board of Trustees of the National School
District that a street light be placed at the corner of Tenth
Street and E Avenue, read and referred to the Street Committee and
the City Engineer.
'League of California Municipalities Legislative Bulletin
No. 4 read, requesting support of AB 2059, SB 999, SB 19, and
opposition to SB 1089. Moved by Warner,sieconded by Cordingly,
that telegrams and letters be sent as requested. Carried, all
Councilmen present voting aye.
/Communication from the National City Democratic Club regarding
phe installation of a streetsignal at 8th St and rational Avenue.
Moved by Thatcher, seconded by Cordingly, that the communication
be filed. Carried, all Councilmen present voting aye.
'ommunication from the League of California Municipalities
to the Mayors and Councilmen read and ordered filed.
Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Kilcrease; that the following
delinquent taxes be accepted without the seven percent interest and
the cancellation fee:

/City Engineer Ireland reported that an agreement between the
City of National City and the State Relief Administration for the
assignment of relief workers was ready for signatures. Moved by
yo' } Cordingly, seconded by Narne r, that RESOLUTION NO. 2023 approving
the agreement and authorizinz the Mayor to enter into the agreement
in behalf of the City of National City, be adopted. Carried, all
Councilmen present voting aye on roll -call. Councilmen absent: none.
/ Moved by Thatcher, seconded by Warner, that RESOLUTION NO. 2024

calling a special election in the City of National City and ordering
the City Clerk to publish notice of same, be adopted. Carried, all
Councilmen present voting aye on roll -call. Councilmen absent: none.

requesting the County of San Diego to oil 18th Street between Granger
and Rachel Avenues, be adopted. Carried, all Councilmen present
voting aye on roll -call. Councilmen absent: none.

ordering the closing of Palm Avenue from 22nd Street to 24th Street,
be adopted. Carrie', all Councilmen present voting aye on roll -call.

Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Warner, that the following
transfer of funds be authorized to cover salary of Park Sup't paid
out of the General Fund:
-"From the Park M & I to the General Fund $ 1.065.00
Carried, all Councilmen present voting aye.
/Report of Mr. Gautereaux, Sup't of Parks and ?laygrounds on the
improvement of the softball diamond, recommending the enlargement of
the bleachers only.
./George Trey of the S.D.Consolidated Gas and Electric Company
gave information regarding the lighting of the diamond.
Being no further business, it was moved by Cordingly, seconded by
_Kilcrease, that the meeting adjourn. Carried, all Councilmen present
