Mayor -3ird welcomed the students of the Civic class of the
Sweetwater Union Hi(_h School and invited the Embers of the
Students City Council to be seated at the Council table.
Minutes of the regular meetin7 of May 16, 1939 read and
approved.

2035 authorizing: the ''favor of the City of National City to enter into

rental of the space used by the i'aP.A..sewing project, be adopted.

03 2036 granting a refund of 1938-1939 tax on certain personal property
paid by Ezra '3. Viilliams, be adopted. Carried, all Councilmen present
voting aye on roll -call. Councilmen absent: none.
.Fire Chief 3ird and ChLef of Police Knapp requested asdecision
from the City Council as to the procedure to be followed in the
regulation of the sale and ute of fireworks. After some discussion,
•it was decided to ask-the-merch.ants,to delay the, sale of fireworks
until June 20th, t1-,is year. New licenses to be issued as of June 20,
1939.
Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Kilerease, that the application
of H.L.Worden to install a miniature steam train in the Park area,
be denied. Carried, all Councilmen present voting aye.
