Councilmen present: Cordinply, Kilcrease, Thatcher, warner, Pird. Reading of the minutest of the previous meeting dispensed with. 7o bills. /The two nroposals for the purchase of two 1938 Ford V8 Sedans that had been refers d tot he Finance Committee, presented for action. Mr. Sears, representing the San Diego Motor Company, asked permission to withdraw his nroposal and resubmit it at the same price quoted by the South "ay Motor Cornpany,with the ,understanding that he would cut the South Bay motor Company's proposal by 50.00. Mr. Sears was given permission to withdraw his proposal. So done. After some discussion by tho Council, it wcs decided that since the proposal by the San Diego Motor Company has been withdrawn, to enter into a lease agreement with:the South Ray Motor Company for two new Ford V8's as per letter of proposal. Moved by Warner, seconded by Cordingly, that the City Attorney be authorized to draw a lease n,greer^ent between the City of National City, California, and the South Bay Motor Company, a firm doing l-1,sin_ess in the City of National City, for the lease of two 1939 Ford V8 Tudor Sedans, as per letter of Thine 20th, 193P, and that the pronerrofficers be authorized to enter i^to the agreement on behalf of the City of National City, California. Carried, by the following vote to -wit: Ayes: Councilmen, Cordingly, Kilcrease, Thatcher, Warner, Bird. Nr:yes: Councilmen, none. The Chamber of Commerce has endorsed the invitation and he asked that the City Council to also accept. It was mrnrerl by Cordingly, seconded by Kilcrease, that the City Council accent the offer of September 2nd, as National City Day at the Del lular Turf Club. Carried, all Councilmen present voting aye. City Attorny Campbell reported that he_hadssecured the sum of 22.50 from 0.1/alderamma for the abatement proceedings; same_ being deposited with the City Treasurer. Notice from the League of California Municipalities, San Liego County Division, that the meeting at Coronado has been postponed until July 8th. The Agreement for Assignment of Relief workers by and between the City of National City and the State Relief Administration, presented by City Engineer Ireland. Moved by Thatcher, seconded by Warner, that RESOLUTION N0. 1979, authorizing the "Mayer to execute the agreement in behalf of the City of Nati mnal City, be adopted. Carried, by the following vote to -wit: Ayes: Councilmen, Cordingly, Kilcrease, Thatcher, Warner, Bird. Naves: Councilmen, none. Absent: none. '✓Pioved by Prarher, seconded by Kilcrease, that the requests of Mildred:Weiss sad Hattie Kimball for the payment of delinquent tax without the seven percent interest or the Cancellation fee, under a>,thcr'_zntion of Ordinance No. 659, be granted. Carried, by the fbllocring vote to -wit; Ayes: Councilmen, Cordingly, Kilcrease, Thatcher, Warner, Bird. Naves: Councilmen, none. Absent: none. Moved by Kilcrease, seconded by Cordingly, that the proper officers be authorized to make the following transfers of funds: From the Sn. raa tax St Tmn Fund to the St Imp P�and--1' 246.17, to rgvn;- labor, rentals and uunnlies on Project No. 5, for the month of June, 1938. From the State Auto Tax Fund to the General Fund--$ 560.00, to cover portions of Policemen and Firemen salaries for the month of June, ic) e, for protection of Highway # 101. From the Sn/ Del. max Fund tothe General Fund--4 1,367.11. City Engtneer authorized to trite the matter un with the officials of the Bus Company. Being no further business, it was moved by Cordingly, seconded by Kilcrease, that t he meeting adltourn.
