A regular meeting of the City Council called to order by the
Mayor. Councilmen present: Cordingly, Kilcrease, Thatcher, Warner,
Bird. Councilmen absent: none.
Minutes of the meeting of April 19, 1938, read. The following
words ordered striken from minutes: " to provide for a recreation
roam to be used by the WPA recreational classes". So done and the
minutes were then approved as corrected.

the following vote to -wit:

on the Seagrove Fire trucks be accepted. Carried, all Councilmen

seconded by Kilcrease, that the heading only be read. Carried, all
Councilmen present voting aye. Moved:ht Warner,j econded by Thatcher,
that ORDINANCE NO. 660, entitled "An Ordinance amending Ordinance No.
597, entitled ' An Ordinance providing for bouleaard stops in the City
of National City, California', adopted the sixteenth day of April, 1929"
be 7adopted. Carried, by the following vote to -wit:

Moved by Thatcher, seconded by Warner, that the map of National
Heights be approved. Carrted, by the following vote to -wit:

Notice of meeting of the San ;Diego County League of California
Municipalities, at Escondido on May 6, 1938, read.
'ORDINANCE NO. amending Ordinance No. 290, entitled," An
Ordinance regulating the keeping and licensing of dogs within the
corporate limits of the City of National City, California, and
providing penalties for its violation," passed and adopted August 3,
1909, by adding sections 11 and 2* thereto, read. Moved by Thatcher,
seconded by Warner, that the Ordinance be introduced and laid over,
under the rules and according to law. Carried, by the following vote
to -wit:
Ayes: Councilmen, Cordingly, Kilcrease, Thatcher, Warner, Bird.
Nayes: Councilmen, none.
Absentt none.
/ORDINANCE NO. declaring certain animals a nuisance, lsid

., City Attorney Campbell read an Ordinance forccontrol of rabies.
Moved by Kilcrease, seconded by Thatcher, that Ordinance No.
entitled " An Ordinance providing for the control and eradication of
rabies end the running at large of dogs in the City of National City,
California, be introduced and laid over, under the rules and according
to law. Carried, by the following vote to -wit:
Ayes: Councilmen, Cordingly, Kilcrease, Thatcher, Warner, Bird.
Nayes: Councilmen, none.
Absent: none.

Chief of Police Knapp recommended the appointment of Alton L.
Oyer to the police force for a probationary period to fill a
vacancy created by the resignation of A.L.Slmmons ; said appointment
as radio patrolman at •$ 100.00 per month effective as of April 3, 1938.
Moved by Kilcrease, seconded by Warner, that RES:JLUTI0NENO:t1965,
appointing Alton L. Oyer be adopted. Carried, by the following vote to -
wit:
Ayes: Councilmen, Cordingly, Kilcrease, Thatcher, Warner, Bird.
Keyes: Councilmen, none.
Absent: none.
'Park Superintendent Gautereaux requested some material needed for
the booths at the circus and carnival on May 20th, 1938. Moved by
Cordingly, seconded by Thatcher, that Mr. Gautereaux be authmrized to
purchase same. Carried, by the following vote to -wit:
Ayes: Councilmen, Cordingly, Kilcrease, Thatcher, Varner, Bird.
Keyes: Councilmen, none.
Absent: none.
•% Mr. Gautereaux requested an appropiation of $ 277.00 for paint
and materials for the swimming pool and dressing rooms. Moved by
Cordingly, seconded by Thatcher, that the appropiation be made. Carried,
by the following vote to -wit:
Ayes: Councilmen, Cordingly, Kilcrease, Thatcher, Warner, Bird.
Naves: Councilmen, none.
Absent: none.
Being no further business, it was moved by Cordingly, s econded by
Kilcrease, that the meeting adjourn. Carried, bil Councilmen present
