A regular meeting of the City Council called Iro order by the
Mayor. Councilmen present: Cordingly, Kilcrease, Thatcher,
Bird. Councilmen absent: none.

Moved by Kilcrease, seconded by Cordingly, that the bills be allowed
and warrants drawn for same. Carried, all Councilmen prssent voting
aye on roll -call.
1 Mr. Sta ford, owner of property at F and 26th Street, asked
regarding the grade and drainage problem at his property. City
Council to ask WPA to reconsider the project for lowering the
sidewalk.
, Mr. Chas, Scott and delegation from the Shuffleboard Courts
present regarding the construction of a building for a club -house,
and urged that the Council authorize the work to start at once.
Moved by Thatcher, seconded by Cordingly, that the authorization be
given and the work started by the Park Superintendent. Carried, all
Councilmen present voting aye on roll -call.
Mr. Clifford Ellis present regarding a street light at 6th and
A Avenue. Presented a petition signed by property owners of district
Matter referred to the Finance Committee.

Letter from Glen Rick, member of the Board of Directors of the
State League of California Municipalities, urging the support of
proposition No. 8. Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Kilcrease, that
ga. r°° RESOLUTION NO. 2004, endorsing the propostion No. 8, be adopted.

--Report of the City Planning Commission on the petition of L.D.
Wingo to build a store and s:rvice station on E 126 feet of Lots
270 and 271, Lincoln Acres Annex No. 2; said Planning Commission
recommends that the permit be granted for a period of five years
with the understanding that the use be restricted to that shown
0C/ in the petition and that the permit is not transferable. Moved by
Kilcrease, seconders by Cordingly, that RESOLUTION NO. 2005, approving
the decision of the Planning Commission and granting a special
permit, be adopted. Carried, all Councilmen present voting aye on
roll -call.
'County tax bill on property owned by the City of National
City at Division and Palm referred to the City Attorney.
'City Engineer Ireland instructed to see if the corner of 18th
and Granger can be made safer.
b. Radio interference at 18th and Granrer referred to the Chief
of Police.
'Letter from the Estate of John E. Boal by Edgar Boal, asking
that the City disclaim any public interest for street purposes in
that part of "P" Avenue lying between 22nd and 24th Streets as
shown on the map of Sarah C. Kimball Subdivision of 40 Acre Lot 2,
in Quarter Section 133 of Rancho de la Nation. Mot drby Cordingly,
seconded by Kilcrease, that the matter be referred to the City
Engineer. Carried, all Councilmen present voting aye.
Letter from the Department of Public Works showing the
expenditures of a Cent gas tax monies, read and ordered filed.
7 Notice from Chas. Richardson of meeting of the San Diego County
Division of the League of California Municipalities, read and ten
officials signified their intention of attending.
i Letter from the Planning Commission regarding- the terms of
Commissioners referred to the City Attorney, who presented RESOLUTION
NO. 2006, reappointing Ed. Dimock, Gilbert Fritz and Ernest a. Chambers
for terms of four years. Moved by Warner, seconded by Cordingly, that
the Resolution be adopted. Carried, all Councilmen present voting aye

"ORDINANCE NO. entitled " An Ordinance providing for the
licensing of contractors and subcontractoes in the City of National
City, California, providing a penalty for the violation thereof.",
presented. Moved by Thatcher, seconded by Warner, that the Ordinance
be introduced and laid over, under the rules and accordingly to law,
Carried, all Councilmen present voting aye.
Councilman Warner excused.
ORDINANCE NO. entitled " An Ordinance providing for
the licensing of certain occupations and amusement, providing
penalties for the violation thereof, and amending Ordinance No. 583
entitled an ordinance regulationg restaurants, lunch counters, cafes,
cafeterias, soda fountains, fruit st-nds, groceries, and other places
in the City of National City, California, whore food is prepepared
for sale, sold, distributed, or displayed for sale, and providing
for the regulation of all persons handling foodstuffs.", presented.
Moved by Cording ly, seconded by Thatcher, that the ordinance be
introduced and laid over, under the rules_,and accordingito law.
Carried, all Councilmen present voting ave. Councilman Warner absent.
Being no further business, it was moved by increase, seconded
by Thatcher, that the meeting adjourn. Carried, all Councilmen present
voting aye.
