A regular meeting of the City Council called to order'by the
Mayor. Counci lme n present: Cordingly, Kilcrease, Thatcher, Warner,
Bird. Councilmen absent: none.
Minutes of the adjourned meeting of September 1, endthe meeting
of September 6th, 1938, read and approved.

Mr. Hal Smith present and requested that the gulley on the
south side of 24th Street located be green Highland and J Avenues
be filled as it very hazardous. He also stated that if it was filled
there will be 290 feet of sidesalk put in. Matter referred to the
City Engineer.
Petition of Property Owners to the Planning Commission and the
City Council go accept a 60' right of way for street extending from
18th to 28th Street for F Avenue. Matter referred to the City Plannini
Commission for approval.
1fESOLUTION NO. 1995, granting a refund of $ 3.18 to E.K.Hong
read. Moved by Warner, seconded by Thatcher, that the Resolution be
adopted. Carried, by the following vote to -wit:
Ayes: Councilmen, Cordingly, Kilcrease, Thatcher, Warner, Bird.
Nayes: Councilmen, none.
Absent: none.

Annual report of the City Auditor Harry E. Bonnell, read and

Moved by Thatcher, seconded by Warner, that the following
trandfers be authorized:
▪ $ 317.50 .from the General Fund to the Street Improvement Fund.
• $ 328.70 from the Sp. Gas Tax St Imp Fund to the St Imp. Fund.
Carried, by the following vote to -wit:

City Attorney Campbell presented RESOLUTION NO. 1996, allowing
1161(1 the Paradise Valley Sanitarium to connect with the sewer system of
the City of National City, California, and providing for the payment
of an annual fee. Moved by Kilcrease, seconded by Warner, that the
Resolution be adopted. Carried, by the following vote to -wit:
Ayes: Councilmen Cordingly, Kilcrease, Thatcher, Warner, Bird.
Nayes: Councilmen, none.
Absent: none.
RESOLUTION NO. 1997, providing for the payment of $ 25.00
per month for three crossing guards for nine months, oil to be
included in a supplemental contract with the STate of California
Relief Administratio p'esente d. Moved by Warner, seconded by
Kilcrease, that the Resolution be adopted. Carried, by the following
vote to -wit:
Ayes: Councilmen, Cordingly, Kilcrease, Thatcher, Warner, Bird.
Nayes: Councilme;, none.
Absent: none.
Mayor Bird submitted the names of Gilbert Fritz, and C.W.VanSant
for appointment to the City Planning Commission to fill in the
vacancies caused by the resignation ofD.P.Guy and Joseph Vurgason.
Moved by Warner, seconded by Cordingly, that RESOLUTION NO. 1998,
approving the appointments bb adopted. Carried, by the following
vote to -wit:
Ayes: Councilmen, Cordingly, Kilcrease, Thatcher, Wafer, Bird.
Nayes: Councilmen, none.
Absent: none.

Fifty dollars ( $ 50.00) be donated to the Union -Tribune for
advertisement in the 70th Anniversary Edition of the San Diego Union.

Nayes: Councilmen, none.
Absent: none.
Moved by Thatcher, seconded by Cordingly, that the sum of
Twenty-five dollars ( $ 25.00) be donated to Kenneth Ir.-Blanchard

Sweetwater Union High School band to Los Angeles; said expense

Cordingly be appointed to represent the City Council on the
Community Chest Committee. Carried, by thefollowing vote to -wit:

B eing no further business, it was moved by Thatcher,
seconded by Warner, that the meeting adjourn. Carried, all Councilmen
