A regular meeting of the City Council of the City of National
City, called to order by the Mayor. Councilmen present: Cordingly,
Kilcrease, Thatcher, Warner, Bird. City Attorney Campbell absent.
Minutes of the regular meeting of Hpril 6, 1937, read and
approved.

Carried, by the following vote to :wit:
Kilcrease, Thatcher, Warner, Bird.
City Engineer Weisgerber and City Clerk Richard Higgs of Chula
Vista present regarding the stand of Chula Vista in regards to the
application of the California Water & Telephone Company to the Division
of Water Resources for permission to store Tia Juana River water in
the Judson and Sweetwater Reservoirs. They presented Resolution No.
473 of the City of Chula Vista, California, and asked the City Council
to adopt similar measures. After some discussion, it was moved by
Cordingly, seconded by Thatcher, that RESOLUTION NO. 1874,"protesting
the storage of Tia Juana River water in Sweetwater and Judson
Reservoirs, providing for the employment of Cosgrove & O'Neil, attorneys
and counselors at law, jointly with the City of Chula Vista, and
stating compensation therefor, and authorizing the Mayor and the City
Clerk to execute any and all documents with reference to the proceedings
on behalf of the City of National City, California," be adopted.
Carried, by the following vote to -wit:
Ayes: Councilmen, Cordingly, Kilcrease, Thatcher, Warner, Bird.
Hayes: Councilmen, none.
Absent: none.

for permission to have dog kennels at the above address. Lars. Kessler

Resolution approving, of same, with certain restrictions. Moved by
Cordingly, seconded by Pvarner, that the City Council grant the
request as per recommendation of the Planning Commission. Carried,
all Councilmen present voting aye.
#/r75- 1 RESOLUTIOI' NO. 1875, granting the cancellation of the seven
per cent interest and the cancellation fee on delinquent taxes as
requested by Joseph R. Campbell, read. Moved by Warner, seconded by
Cordingly, that the Resolution be adopted. Carried, by the following
vote to -wit:
Ayes: Councilmen, Cordingly, Kilcrease, Thatcher, Warner, Bird.
Nayes: Councilmen, none.
Absent: none.
Mrs. Ethel T. Lossius requested that the City Lngineer be
authorized to establish the grade for sidewalk on 26th Street at
L Avenue, at the N E corner. Moved by Cordingly, seconded by
Kilcrease, that the request be granted and the Lngineer instructed
to establish the grade. Carried, all Councilmen present voting aye.
Order of the Railroad Commission for the construction of a
crossing at 1st St., over the A.T. & Santa Fe Ry Road, read and
the Supvt of Streets ordered to proceed with the work.
"-Communication from the State Compensation Insurance Fund
enclosing a check for $ 273.01 dividend for period from June 1, 1935
,to June 1, 1936.
'Communication' from Abbie Carrington, corresponding secretary
for the Olivewood Club requesting a donation of r 25.00 for the Annual
Flower Show. Moved by Thatcher, seconded by Cordingly, that their
request be granted. Carried, by the following vote to -wit:
Ayes: Councilmen, Cordingly, Kilcrease, Thatcher, Warner, Bird.
Mayes: Oouniclmen, none.
Absent: None. ,
Communication from the Railroad Commission stating that the
decision of the Suprefae Court in the Railroad Commission vs. Pacific
Gas and Electric Company will determine if the Sweetwater Pate case
will be appealed, In any event, the Commission will take the proper
action to protect the interests of the customers of the water company,
read and ordered filed.

Warner, seconded by, Cordingly, that the Resolution be adopted. Carried,
all Councilmen present voting aye.
Being no further business, it was moved by Cordingly, seconded
by Kilcrease, that the meeting adjourn until April 27, 1937 at 7:30
P.M. otclock. Carried, all Councilmen present voting aye.
