The adjoJrned meeting of the City Council called to order by,the
Mayor.at 11:30 A.M. o'clock.
Councilmen present: Cordingly, KI lcrease, Warner, Bird.
Councilmen absent: Thatcher.

Moved by Warner, seconded by Kilcrease, that the/reading of the
minutes of the meeting of December 21, 1937, Carried, all Councilmen
present voting ave.
(51 ORDINANCE NO. 657, placed on final passage. Moved by Cordingly,
secondee by Kilcrease and Warner, that the Ordinance be adopted.
Carried, by the following vote to -wit:
Ayes: Councilmen, Cordingly, Kilcrease,Warner, Bird.
Nayes: Councilmen, none.
Absent: Councilmen Thatcher.
Councilman Thatcher arrives.
Upon request of the City Clerk, it was moved by Kilcrease,
seconded by Cordingly, that Warrant rho. 24279 in the amount of $ 6.18
in favor of the San Diego Cons. Gas and Electric Company, be cancelled.
Carried, by the following vote to -wit:
Ayes:.Ceuncilmen, Cordingly, Kilcrease, Thatcher, Warner, Bird.
Naye s • ounci lnen, none.
Absent: none.
Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Warner, that the following transfers
be authorized; said moneys having been transfered to the Sinking Funds
to pay off defaulted bonds and interest coupons:
From Sinking Fund No. 4 to General Fund $ 4,294.12"
From Sinking Fund No. 6 to General Fund 1,203.72-
From Special Del: Tax Fund to the General Fund 1,407.89 -
Total $ 6,905.73-
Carried, by the following_ vote to -wit:
Ayes: Councilmen Cordingly, Kilcrease, Thatcher, Warner, Bird.
Nayes: Councilmen none.
Absent: none.
Being no furths.r business, it was moved by Cordingly, seconded by
Warner, that the meetin- adjourn. Carried, all Councilmen present
voting aye.

A regular meeting of the City Council called to order by the
Mayor. Councilmen present: Cordingly, K_ilcrease, Thatcher, Warner,
Bird.
Minut:;s of the regular meeting of December 21, 1937 and the
adjourned meeting of December 31, 1937, read and approved.
Bills audited by the Finance Committee presented:
General payroll $ 2,029.50

Library expenditures 521.22

Moved by Kilerease, second by Cordingly, that the bills be allowed
and warrants drawn tor same. Carried, by the following vote to -wit:
Ayes: Councilmen Cordingly, Kilcrease, Thatcher, Warner, Bird.
Nayes: Councilmen none.
Absent: none.
Petition of residents of 21st and L Avenue for a Street light,
read and referred to the City Engineer.
,Communication from the Works Progress Administration regarding
the Library Extension project, read. After some discussion the
matter was referred to Mr. Ireland..
' Communication from Guy and Guy submitting the renewal policies
on the various cars owned by the City, read and policy accepted.
.Communication from W.L.B eatty submitting renewal policy on
the Library, read and policy accepter.
'Notification of Liquor License application to the State
Board of Equalization of the Corner Cafe, read and ordered filed.
,Letter from the State 1Jeague of California Municipalities
stating the Second District Court of Appeals has held bet -taking
illegal, read and ordered filed.
.Petition for' fire hydrant at Paradise Drive and loth Street
referred to the Fire Chief.
Report of the Tax Collector to Jan. 4, 1938, read and ordered
filed.
Report Of the City Co-:rt for the month of December, 1937, read
and.ordered filed.
'Matter of floor covering in the new City hall discussed and

and referred to the Custodian of Public Buildings Mr. Ireland.
• Councilman Warner asked for consideration of the appointment
of a Traffic Commission to be composed of seven members. After
some discussion, the matter was laid over for further consideration.
Beim no further business, it was moved by Cordingly, seconded
by Kilcrease, that the meetinr a djoarn. Carried, all Councilmen
present voting aye.
