Councilmen absent: Cordingly, Kilcrease. Minutes of the adjourned meeting of June 29, 1937 read. Resolution No. 1892 rescinded and with this correction, the minutes were approved. Bills audited 'by the Finance Committee presented: Library Street payroll General General expenditures $ 570.34 260.25 2,025.05 $.613.30 $ 4,468.94 Moved by Warner, seconded by Thatcher, that the bills be allowed and warrants drawn for same. Carried, by the following vote to -wit: ayes: Councilmen, Thatcher, Warner, Bird. ayes: Councilmen, none. Absent: Councilmen Cordingly, gilcrease. Communication from the Library Board asking for the reappointment of Mrs. H. Hallett and Rev. t'aul Jones to the Board. Moved by Thatcher, seconded by Warner, that the reappointments be gra:ited4r.Carried, all Councilmen present voting aye. Annual Report of the National City Library read and ordered filed. x/G.RC Moved by Warner, seconded by Thatcher, that the title only on Ordinance No. 655 beiread. Carried, all Councilmen present voting aye. and placed on final passage. ORDINANCE NO. 655 presented,( Moved by Warner, seconded by Thatcher, that ORDINANCE NO. 655 relating to the assessment, levy and collection of taxes and declaring a moratorium on penalties and interest, be adopted. Carried, by the following vote to -wit: Ayes: Councilmen, Thatcher, Warner, Bird. Nayes: none. Absent: Councilmen, Cordingly, gilcrease. Project statement for Highway 101 through National City, laid over until July 20, 1937. 'Project Statement No. 5, for Streets of Major Importance read and ordered filed. -"Communication from the City of Spokane regarding the Fire College on august 11-14, Report of the City read and ordered filed. 1937, read and ordered filed. Court for the month Of June, 1937, of $ 908,00 91 IP4Lk Copy of the letter from the County Board of Supervisors to District Attorney Thomas Whelan instructing the preparation of the proper cooperative agreement between the County and the Council of National City for the project work on East 8th Street, read and ordered filed. / City Engineers Report for National City Lighting District No. 1 filed. Moved by Thatcher, seconded by Warner, that RESDLUTION NO. 1894 appointing Time and Place of hearing pretests and Directing Clerk to Give Notice of Same, be adopted. Carried, by the following vote to.wit: Ayes: Councilmen, Thatcher, Warner, Bird. Nayes: none Absent: Councilmen Cordingly, Kilcrease. 'Lease for Thelon Building laid over until next meeting. 'Moved by Thatcher, seconded by Warner, that the City Represent:. ative Cayser be instructed to write a letter of withdrawal of the City PWA application. Carried, all Councilmen present voting aye. /Moved by Thatcher, seconded by Warner, that the City Clerk be instructed to write to Congressman Izac, Senator Johnson and Senator McAdoo of the withdrawal of our PWA project application, thanking them for the efforts in our behalf and asking their backing of the School application. Carried, all Councilmen present voting aye. is City Engineer Cayser reported re: the Narbnr development and suggested a wire to the Senators and Congressman to aid in securing early appropiation for Harbor . Moved by Thatcher, seconded by Warner, tnat the Congressman and Senators be contacted by wire. Carried, all Councilmen present voting aye. 'Moved by Warner, seconded by Thatcher, that aaletter be ,,r_, written,to the City of Los Angeles and the City of San Rafael in appreciation of the filing of an amicus curiae brief in Whiting case. Carried, all Councilmen present voting aye. % r9.5— ''RESOLUTION NO. 1895 adopting a prevailing wage scale in the City of National City, California, and authorizing the Mayor of the City of National City, California, on behalf of said City to enter into a supplemental agreement with Calland & Eden relating to the erection and construction of a municipal Building, read. Moved by Warner, seconded by Thatcher, that the Resolution be adopted. Carried, all Councilmen present vmt�ing aye. M 92 Moved by Thatcher, seconded by Wanner, that the proper officers be authorised to make the following transfer: $ 1,635.89 from the Sp. Del. Tax Fund to the General Carried, by the following vote to -wit: Ayes: Councilmen; Thatcher, Warner, Bird. Hayes"t none. Absent: Councilmen Cordingly and IIilcrease.
