July 20, 1937
A regular meeting of the City Council called to order by
the Mayor. Councilmen present: Cordingly, Kilcrease, Thatcher,
Warner, Bird. Councilmen absent: none.
Minutes of the regular meeting of July 6, 1937, read and
approved.
Bills audited by the Finance "ommittee presented:
General payroll- July 15, 1937 $ 1,398.85
Street Dept. " " " " 441.50
General expenditures 2,238.22
Total 1 4,078.57
'County Health Department report of the water sample from the
Municipal Swimming Pool, read and ordered filed.
Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Thatcher, that the Fire and
Theft policy on the 1936 Dodge i ton express be renewed. Carried,
by the following vote to -wit:
Ayes: Councilmen, Cordingly, Kilcrease, Thatcher, Warner, Bird.
ayes: Councilmen, none.
Absent: none.
7 League of California Municipalities Legislative bulletin No.
18, regarding the interest on Public Deposits, read and ordered
filed.
'City Clerk reported that telegrams had been s ent to Congressman
Izac, Congressman Thomas F. Ford and Senator William U'ibbs McAdoo
in relation to HR 7186 in re amendment to Federal Banking Act and
that answers had been received from them.
Communication from the State board of Equalization regarding
hearings on liquor licenses read and referred to the Commissioner of
Police.
/ Communication from Andy Woods submitting a lease agreement for
one Model T16- A - D.P. Two Ton GMC Truck with 32x6 10 Ply dual tires
and dual performance axle- Cab and wood Hydraulic Hoist and Lump Body
of 1i-2 yard capacity, read. Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Warner,
that the City Attorney be instructed to draw up proper lease agree-
ment and authorizing the proper officers to sign same. Carried, by.
the following vote to -wit:
Ayes: Councilmen, Cordingly, Kilcrease, Thatcher, Warner, Bird.
Hayes: Councilmen, none.
Absent: none.

Communication from the County Board of Supervisors transmitting
a certified copy of a resolution adopted by the supervisors on July
12, 1937, sregarding the oiling of the shoulders of East 8th Street
in the City of National City, read and ordered filed.
'Communication from the Alexander Contruction Company, Ltd.
asking for the division of property by the "metes and Bounds"
decription, read, and referred to the Planning Commission and the
City Attorney.

1896, acb pting the Memorandum of Agreement for Streets of 1rajor
Importance - Projects 5-6-7-8 , be adopted. Carried, by the fb llowing
vote to -wit:
Ayes: Councilmen, Cordingly, Kilcrease, Thatcher, Warner, Bird.
Naves: Councilmen, none.
Absent: npne.
Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Thatcher, that RESOLUTION NO.
-41197 1897, adopting Memorandum of Agreement for Highway 101, be adopted.
Carried, by the following vote to -wit:
Ayes: Councilmen, Cordingly, Kilcrease, Thatcher, Warner, bird.
Hayes: Councilmen, none.
Absent: none.
Mr. Field, Director of the Federal Art Project in San Diego
County, introduced by Mr. Geyser. Mr. Field spoke of the aims and
objects of the project and offered assistance for the ddcorating of
the new City Hall. Matter taken under advisement.
Supâșt of Streets presented a rough estimate for the remodeling
of the present City Hall for use by the Casa de Salud. Moved by
Cordingly, seconded by Thatcher, that the Casa officials be requested
to submit planof changes desired to the City Council. Carried, all
Councilmen present voting aye.
-City Engineer Cayser reported that WPA is not favorable to
small projects and suggested that a project be subtitted for the
painting of all Municipal buildings under either WPA or SRA.
Being no further business, it was moved by Cordingly, seconded
by Kilcrease, that the meeting adjourn. Carried, all "ouncilmen
present voting aye.
