Councilmen present: Cordingly, Kilcrease, Thatcher, Warner, Bird. Councilmen absent: none. Minutes of the adjotrnedmeeting of May 25, 1937, read and approved. Bills audited by the Finance Committee presented: General pall -June lat Street Dept. " Library expenditures -May 1937 General expenditures $ 1,947.70 322.50 802.60 1.756.73 $ 4,829.53 Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Kilcrease, that the bills be allowed and warrants drawn for same. Carried, by the following vote to -wit: Ayes: Councilmen, Cordingly, Kilcrease, Thatcher, Warner, Bird. Nayes: Councilmen none. Absent: none. Communication from Stone and Youngberg regarding PUPA projects read and ordered filed. '-Communications from War Department regarding applications for dredging in the Bay of San "iego, read and ordered filed. - Report of the City Court for the month of May, 1937 of $ 1,474.50, read and ordered filed. f Finance Committee report on petition for citizens for fire hydrant in the vicinity of l6th st and Lanoitan Avenue, favorable. Moved by Kilcrease, seconded by Warner, that the hydrant be installed. Carried, by the following vote to -wit: Ayes_: Councilmen, Cordingly, Kilcrease, Thatcher, Warner, Bird. Naves: Councilmen, none. Absent: none. ( i w 414 ORDINANCE NO. 654, entitled," An Ordinance of the City of National City, California, amending section 2 of Ordinance No. 628 relating to the installation of sewer laterals; read and placed on final passage. Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Warner, that the urdinance be adopted. Carried, by the following vote to -wit: 82 Ayes: Councilmen, Cordingly, Rilcrease, Thatcher, Warner, Bird. Nayes: Councilmen, none. Absent: none. City Attorney Campbell reported that permission can be secured from Benny Gray to -remove trees from his property. Matter referred to Street Sup't Finnerty. City Attorney submitted the final approving opinion of O'Melvey, Tuller and Myers on the City Hall Bonds. Moved by Thatcher, seconded by Cordingly,that the opinion be accepted. Carried, all Councilmen present voting aye. Moved by Kilcrease, seconded by Cordingly, that the bill of $ 100.00 for services of O'Melveny, Tuller and Myers be paid. Carried, by the following vote to -wit: Ayes: Councilmen, Cordingly, Kilcrease, Thatcher, Warner, Bird. Nayes: Councilmen, none. Absent: none. -7 The easement from the Santa Fe Ry Company for street rt7 purposes over 1st street crossing submitted by the City Attorney. RESOLUTION NO. 18874 accepting deed, read. Moved by Warner, seconded by Thatcher, that the Resolutionbe adopted. Carried, by the following vote to -wit: Ayes: Councilmen, Cordingly, Kilcrease, Thatcher, Warner, Bird. Nayes: ouncilmen, none. Absent: none. -Communication from Calland § nd Eden on revised estimate on construction of City Hall with new (raining details read and discussed. /rrt '-RESOLUTION NO. ;888, appointing Building Inspector James A Bird as duly authorized o+ficer representing the City in construction of new City Hall read. Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Kilcrease, that the Resolutionbe adopted. Carried, by the following vote to -wit: Ayes: Councilmen, Cordingly, Kilcrease, Thatcher, Warner, bird. Nayes': Councilmen, none. Absent: none. `'RESOLUTION NO. 1889, Authorizing the Mayor D.W.Bird to enter into contract with Calland & Eden for construction of City Hall and repair of present Fire Hall, read. Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Thatcher, that the Resolution be adopted. Carried, by the following vote to -wit: Ayes: Councilmen, Cordingly, Kilcrease, Thatcher, Warner, Bird. Nayes: Councilmen, none. Absent: none. Moved by Silcrease, seconded by Thatcher, that the City Engineer be instructed to set stakes for sidewalk on L Avenue between 5th and 6th Street. Carried, all Councilmen present voting aye. Being no further business, it was moved by.Cordingly, seconded by Silcrease, that the meeting adjourn. Carried, 'a1ltCouhoilmen present voting aye.'
