June 29, 1937
The_adjourned:meeting of€the City Council was called to
order by the Mayor at 7:30 P.M. o'clock. Councilmen present:
Cordingly, Kilcrease, Thatcher, Warner, Bird.
Minutes of the previous meeting of June 15, 1937, read and
approved.
Bill audited by the Finance Committee presented:
Calland and Eden Yirst payment as per
contract $ 5,400.00
Total $ 5,400.00
Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Kilcrease, that the bill be allowed
and warrant drawn for same. Carried, by the following vote to -wit:
Ayes: Councilmen, Cordingly,Kilcrease,Thatcher, Warner, Bird.
1 Nayes: Councilmen, none.
II Absent: none.
Mr. Tigh present and stated that he does not request the
removal of the goats from Grover Heath's property entirely but is
asking that they be taken to the back of the lot. Mr. Heath`_presented
a letter from Attorney Campbell which was read and returned to Mr.
Heath.

without 7% interest and cancellation fee to Vera Garrick, read. Moved
by Kilcrease, seconded by Thatcher, that the Resolution be adopted.
Carried, by the following vote to -wit:
Ayes: Councilmen, Cordingly, Kilcrease, Thatcher, Warner, Bird.
Hayes: Councilmen, none.
Absent: none.

LUTION NO. 1892 accepting the easement from the Atch
Topeka and santa lilway for the First Street cr g, read. Moved
by Warner, seconded by Thatc.: that resolution be adopted. Carried,
by the following vote to -
Ayes: Counci , ordingly, Hilcrease, Thatcher, •er, Bird.

Communication from the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railway
enclosing a statement of cost of installation of public grade crossing
and asking for authority to proceed with the work. Referred to the
Street department with authority to proceed.

Communication from Southern California Horticultutal In-
stitute regarding lot cleaning, reed and ordered filed.
Notice of postponement of meeting of the League of Calif-
ornia Municipalities of San Diego County, scheduled for July 2
et Oceanside until July 9th. Program to be submitted later.
Petition of residents in the vicinity of the Grover Heath
property in behalf of Mr. Heeth reed. City Attorney stated the
City Council can take no further action in case es the matter is
merely one between two parties. Judge Herbison offered to arb-
itrate the matter between the parties concerned.
Communication from the Treasury Department --Procurement
Division re:;eese on the Thelen Building for the Sewing Project,
read. Moved by Cordingly seconded by Kilerease, that the lease
be signed providing thet lease with Mrs. Thelen can be extended
for one year et the same rental. Carried, by the following vote
to -wit: Ayes: Councilmen Cordingly, K.ilcreese, Thatcher, Warner
Bird. Hayes: Councilmen: none. Absent: none.
#/873 Change Order No. 2 in the plans end specifications for the
new City Hall submitted. Moved by Kilerease seconded by Thatcher
that RESOLUTION N0. 1893 authorizing James Bird, es the Inspector
of Construction, to enter into agreement with Cellend & Eden, Con-
tractors for Change No. 2. Carried, by the following vote to -wit:
Ayes: Councilmen, Cordingly, Kilcrease, Thatcher, Warner end Bird.
Noyes: Councilmen, none.
Absent: none.
ORDINANCE NO. emending Ordinance No. 538, of the
City of National City, relating to the Assessment, Levying and Col-
lection of Taxes, reed. Moved by Thatcher seconded by Werner thet
the Ordinance be introduced end laid over, under the rules end ac-
cording to law. Cerried, ell Councilmen present voting aye.
Communication from the War Department enclosing information
circular re: applications for permits for work in the navigable
waters of the United States reed and placed at the disposal of the
City Engineer.
Memorandum of Agreements providing for expenditure of the 1/4

cent State Highway fund for the biennium ending June 30, 1939
read and laid over until the next meeting.
/City Engineer Cayser reported re: WPA projects. New project
for work on City streets. Also reported work progressing preparatory
to Harbor developement
Moved by Cording:y, seconded by Thatcher, that the following
transfers be authorized:
/ $ 1,285.65 from the Unapportioned Tax Fund to the following
funds:

Carried, all "ouncilmen present voting aye.
/ Inventories submitted by the various department heads accepted
and filed with the City Clerk.
Being no further business,it moved by Bilcrease, seconded by
Cordingly, that the meeting adjourned. Carried, 41`*ouncilmet_preslnt
voting aye.
