Councilmen present: Cordingly, Kilcrease,Thatcher, Warner, Bird. Minutes of the regular meeting of February 16, 1937, read and approved after the following correction: Date of March 27, 1937 changed to April 17, 1937. Bills audited by the Finance Committee presented: General payroll $5 2,866.30 Street- Dept. payroll 322.50 Library expenditures 395.89 General expenditures 163.56 Total 3,748.25 Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Kilcrease, that the bills be allowed and warrants drawn for same. Carried, by the following vote to -wit: Ayes: Councilmen, Cordingly,Kilcrease,Thatcher, warner, Bird. Nayes: Councilmen, none. Absent: none. Communication from Harry E Bonnell and Associates, Auditort, reporting that the semi-annual audit is in progress and will be completed by the next Council meeting, read and ordered filed. 'Mr. Fred Zeigler present and requested that the property line be established between K and L Avenues on 17th St., matter referred to the City Engineer. Communication from Arnold F Cayser, City Engineer, requesting authorization to rent a transit for WPA project engineers. Moved by Cordingly, seconded by warner, that the City bngineer be authorized to rent a transit providing that it be a reasonable rate. Carried, by the following vote to -wit: Ayes: Councilmen, Cordingly, Kilcrease,Thatcher,Warner,Bird. Nayes: Councilmen, none. Absent: none. 'Record of Building Permits issued from July 1912 to December, 1932, inclusive, by the National Youth Administration project at the City Hall, read and ordered filed. I Communication from Mrs. Johnstone regarding the dogs in her neighborhood, read and referred to the Chief of Police. 56 'Communication from the Division of Highways regarding the specifications for Bituminous Macadam Surfacing, read and referred to the Suptt of Streets. Communication from W.C.Bryant, 934 8th Ave., San 1'iego, California, requesting that the Notice of Sale of Bonds be sent to him, read and ordered filed. J Communication from the War Department regarding the application of the llth Naval District to relocate fixed moorings and to install 10 additional ones in the Bay of San Liego, r ead and ordered filed. /Communication from the Division of Highways regarding the allocation for gas tax moneys for the biennium 1937-39, read and referred to the Sup(t of Streets for consideration. l Report of the City ''ourt for the month of February, 1937, read. Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Thatcher, that the report be accepted and placed on file. Carried, all Councilmen present voting aye. LeaEue of California Municipalities Legislative Bulletin No. 5, read and ordered filed. (32a /46 rc ,ORDINANCE NO. 650 entitled " An Ordinance of the City of National t'ity, California, Providing for the issuance of Bonds of said City in the sum of Twenty Thousand ( $ 20,000) Dollars for the acquisition, construction and completion of a certain municipal improvement consisting of a City Hall, together with the furnishing and equipment of same", read.and placed on final passage. Ivloved by Cordingly, seconded by Thatcher, that the Ordinance be adopted. Carried, by the following vote to -wit: Ayes: Councilmen, "'ordingly, Kilcrease,Thatcher, Warner,Bird. Nayes: Councilmen, none. Absent: none. /943 l RESOLUTION NO. 1863 authorizing the Mayor to enter into a rental contract with the San Liego Tractor and Equipment Company for a model 30 gasoline Caterpillar Tractor, serial no. 6 G 357 S.P. read. Moved by Warner, seconded by Cordingly, that the Resolution be adopted. Carried, by the following vote to -zit: Ayes: Councilmen, Cordingly, Kilcrease,Thatcher,Varner,Bird. Hayes: Councilmen, none. Absent: none. 57 / Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Thatcher, that the City Attorney be instructed to write to Mr. Lopez regarding the trees in alley adjoining his property. Carried, all Councilmen present voting aye. 'Mr. George Johnson present regarding a retaining curb on street adjoining his property. Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Kilcrease, that the matter be referred to the City Attorney and the City Engineer. Carried, all Louncilmen present voting aye. 'Ike Baruch present regarding his verbal protestation of the City taking certain portion of his property for street purposes. City Attorney recommended that the City ''ouncil deny all claims, en the fact,that the statutes of limitation has expired in which to recover damages. .4 in / RESOLUTION NO. 1864 cancelling duplicate assessment on certain property located as Lots 27 to 34, incl., Block 6, Home - crest A Subd., 80 Acre Lot 1, 4 Sec. 128, 1'at'l Ro., read. Moved by Thatcher, seconded by Cordingly, that the Resolution be adopted. Carried, by the following vote to -wit: ryes: Councilmen, Cordingly, Kilcrease,lhatcher,Warner, Bird. ayes; Councilmen, none. Absent: none. JRESOLUTION NO. 1865 accepting the deed of H. Phillip Scheuerman and Marie E Sbheuerman for certain property to be used as street only, read. Moved by Kilcrease, seconded by Cordingly, that the Resolution be adopted. Carried, by the following vote to -wit: Ayes: Councilmen, Cordingly, KIlcrease,Thatcher,Warner,Bird. Noyes: Councilmen, none. Absent: none. jPolice Commissioner Bert Garner, requested more time to further tonsider the appointment of another policeman. Granted. i Sup't of Parks Gautereaux requested that the work be started for the improvement of the Iiunicipal Plunge buildings and grounds. City Louncil instructed him to prepare and submit plans for same. Being no further business, it was moved by Cordingly, seconded by Kilcrease, that the meeting adjourn.
