Councilmen present: Cordingly, Kilcrease, Thatcher, Warner, Bird. Minutes of the adjourned meeting of April 27, 1937, read and approved. Bills audited by the Finance Committee presented: General payroll $ 1,865.60 Street Dept. payroll 345.00 Library expend_tures 401.87 General " ,l 1,244.19 $ 3,856.66 Moved by Kilcrease, seconded by iiarner, that the bills be allowed and warrants drawn for same. Carried, by the following vote to -wit: Ayes: Councilmen, Cordingly, Kilcrease, Thatcher, Warner, Bird. Mayes: Councilmen, none. Absent: none. 'J.H.Stafford present and requested that the City Engineer be authorized to establish grade for sidewalk and curb on 26th St and F Avenue. Request referred to the Street Superintendent and the City Engineer. /Mr. Phil nice of the California Water and Telephone Company present regarding the protest of the Cities of national City and Chula Vista on the application of the Water Company to store Tia Juana River water in the Sweetwater and Judson reservoirs. Mr. nice presented the position and reasons of the Water Company in making this application. Communication from Senator Ed Fletcher enclosing a copy of A.B.# 528, which adds Section 862b to the Municipal Corporation Act of k883, read and ordered filed. / The feasibility of pithibiting parkin; in certain areas such as in front of theatres, churches, schools, and places of public assemblage, discussed. Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Thatcher, that the matter be referred to the City Attorney, Fire Chief and Police Chief for recommendations. si /ORDINANCE NO. 651, entitled," An Ordinance of the City of National City, California, Adding Section la to Ordinance No. 562 entitled," An Ordinance Limiting the Time for i'arking on Portions of National Avenue and Portions of Eighth Stree in the City of 73 National City, California, Providing a Penalty for the Violation Thereof", read and placed on final passage. Moved by Kilcrease, seconded by Warner, that the Ordinance be adopted. Carried, by the following vote to -wit: Ayes: Councilmen, Cordingly, Kilcrease, Thatcher, Warner, gird. Nayes: Councilmen, none. Absent: none. /Moved by Kilcrease, seconded by Cordingly, that the Street Sup't be authorized to purchase the necessary signs for posting of W 8th Street. Carried, by the Following vote to -wit: Ayes: Councilmen, Cordingly, Kilcrease, Thatcher, Warner, Bird. Nayes: Councilmen, none. Absent: none. Communication from Richard Graves accepting the invitation of Charles Richardson to attend the League' meeting at National City on Friday the 7th of May, 1937. , Legislative Bulletin No. 11, read and ordered filed. 'Communication from Cosgrove and O'Neil acknowledgeing the receipt of warrant, read and ordered filed. /Preliminary Opinion of O'Melveny, Fuller and Myers of the 20,000 Municipal Improvcinent Bonds, read and ordered filed. /Communication from Aber And Rutherford read and ordered filed. etc/w/r77 /RESOLUTION NO. 1879, granting a refund to S.L.Ely for taxes erroneously assessed on improvements in the amount of $ 2.95, read. Moved by Thatcher, seconded by Warner, that the Resolution:be~adopts Carried, by the following vote -to -wit: Ayes: Councilmen, Cordingly, Kilcrease, Thatcher, Warner, Bird. Naves: Councilmen, none. Absent: none. Mrs. H.E.SBear, 512 East 24th St., present and requested that the grade for sidewalk and curb be established for her property Matter referred to'the City Engineer and Street Sup't. Claim of George a. Custer for refund on improvements erroneously assessed read. Upon recommendation of the City Assessor it was moved by Cordingly, seconded for Thatcher, that the City Attorney be instructed to prepare a Resolution granting the refund. Carried, all Councilmen present voting aye. Report of the City Court for the month of April, 1937 of $ 1,056.00 read and ordered filed. 74 / te-0 'RESOLULION NO. 1880, calling for bids on a new City Hall of Z the City of National City, California, read. Moved by Thatcher, seconded by Warner, that the Resolution be adopted. Carried, by the following vote to -wit: Ayes: Councilmen, Cordingly, Kilcrease, Thatcher, Warner, Bird. Nayes: Councilmen, none. Absent: none. "City Engineer Cayser requested that the City pay $ 5.00 per two weeks period to the timekeeper on the SRA projects as the time and budget allowed by the County ;as not covering all the work done, by this man. After some discussion, it was moved by Thatcher that the matter be referred to the Finance Committee. Motion lost for want of a second. No further actionitaken. I /ORDINATICE NO. entitled " An Ordinance Regulating the Construction and LMMaintenance of Public Camps, Providing for the Sanitation of the sante,Est,ablishing Procedure for the Location of Public Camps, Regulating the Location of Camp Cars and Trailers, Providing Against Trespassing on Private Property", read. Moved by Warner, seconded by Cordingly, that theOrdinance be Introduced and laid over, under the rules and according, to law. Carried, all Councilmen present voting aye. Being no further business, it was moved by Cordingly, seconded by Kilcrease, that the meetingadjourn. Carried, all Councilmen present voting, aye.
