May 26, 1937
The adjourned meeting of the City Council called to order
by the Mayor at 7:30 P.M. o'clock. "ouncilmen present: Cordingly,
Thatcher, Warner, Bird. Councilmen absent: Kilcrease.
Minutes of the previous meeting of May 18, 1937, read and
approved.
Councilman Kilcrease arrived.
Mr. A.S.Graf present and requested that the City Council
consider the erection of a Band Stand in the Park . Matter referred
to the 'jerk Commissioner.
"Petition of residents in the vicinity of 16th street, east
of Lanoitan Avenue for a fire hydrant, read. Matter referred to
the Finance Committee and the Fire Chief for recommendation at the
next meeting.
-Communication from Senator Ed Fletcher regarding the Assembly
Bill # 2365 and Assembly bill # 2801, read and ordered filed.
'Letter of thanks from the local sewing project for the
assistance given them by tote City Council, read and ordered filed.
-Communication from Emma C. Spade, Supervisor of the ?foments
and Professional Projects division WPA, expressing appreciation fdr
the continuance of the local sewing project, read and ordered filed.
' League of California Municipalities Legislative Bulletin No.
14, read and ordered filed.
9,..4.4"/rrr, RESOLUTION NO. 1885, authorizing the Mayor and the City Clerk
to enter into a contract with the San Diego County Health Department,
read. Moved by Thatcher,seconded by Warner, that the Resolution be
adopted. Carried, by the following vote to -wit:
Ayes: Councilmen, Cordingly, Kilcrease, Thatcher, Warner, Bird.
Hayes: Councilmen, none.
Absent: none.
Moved by Thatcher, seconded by Warner, that the City Clerk
be instructed to write a letter of endorsement for the new Post
Office, to James Dawson, chairman of the Chamber of Commerce
Committee. Carried, all Councilmen voting aye.
Bids for the construction of the City Hall were opened,
examined and publically declared:

WALTER TREPTE: $ 37,600.00
"Bids were referred to the City Engineer for checking.
'ORDINANCE NO. amending Section 2 of Ordinance No. 628
relating to the installation of sewer laterals, read. Moved by
Thatcher, seconded by Warner, that the Ordinance be introduced and
laid over, under the rules and according to law. Carried, all
Councilmen present voting aye.
/"L- RESOLUTION NO. 1886, waiving seven per cent interest, cancella-
tion fee and cost of posting delinquent taxes on certain real
property in the City of National City, California, read. Moved by

Warner, seconded by Cordingly, that the Resolution b e adopted.
Carried, by the following Vote to -wit:
Ayes: Councilemn, Cordingly, Kilcrease, Thatcher, Warner, Bird.
Nayes: Councilmen, none.
Absent: none.
Moved by Thatcher, seconded by Warner, that a full reading of
Ordinance No. 653 be dispensed with and oniytthe-.titleread;dQarried,
all Councilmen present voting aye.

Municipal Improvement Bond Fund of 1937 for the City of National
City, California, read. and placed on final passage. Moved by
Thatcher, seconded by Warner,that the Ordinance be adopted. Carried,
by the following vote to -wit:
Ayes: Councilmen, Cordingly, Kilcrease, Thatcher, Warner, Bird.
Hayes: Councilmen, none.
Absent: none.
Being no further business, it was waved by Cordingly, seconded
by Kilcrease, that the meeting adjourn. Carried, all Councilmen
present voting aye.
