Councilmen present: Cordingly, Kilcrease, Thatcher, Warner,, Bird. Councilmen absent: none. Minutes of the meeting of September 21, 1937, read and approved. Bills audited by the Finance Committee presented: General payroll $ 2,107.10 St Department " 373.0C General expenditures---- 3,393.22 Library " 463.55 Total % 6,336.87 Moved by Kilcrease, seconded by Cordingly, that the bills be allowed and warrints drawn for same. Carried, by the following vote to -wit: Ayes: Councilman, Cordingly, Kilcrease, Thatcher, Warner, Bird. Nayes: Councilmen, none. Absent: none. vIr. Ed. Cusack present and requested that the Council consider the modification of the present builcing orainance to permit construction of larger single wall dwellings._Chief Bird, Building Inspector recommended that a change be made, but with restrictions. Jack Rice, Real Estate Agent, requested that a change be made to permit a house of larger area that will comply with the Pacific Coast building Conference Code in construction. Moved by Thatcher, seconded by Warner, that the matter be referred to the. Building Inspector for study. Carried, all Councilmen present voting aye. ./Mr. Joseph Kendall of the National Iron Equipment and Supply Company presented a sketch and quotations on proposed steel shelving for the vaults. Matter laid over for further consideration. //Mr. Walter E. Knouae, representative of the Pabco i?astipave Company p: esent and nslced that the Council consider tho, covering of the lobby floor with Kastipave. Latter laid over for further consideration. Mr. Calland of Calland and Eden, Contractors, presented the Notice of Completion. Moved by Warner, seconded by Cordingly, that !Ql� the RESOLUTION NO'. 1911, authorizing the Mayor and the City Clerk to 113 sign the Notice of Completion and authorizing the filing of same. Carried, by the following vote to -wit: Ayes: Councilmen, Cordingly, Kilcrease, Thatcher, Warner, Bird. Nayes: Council^en, none. Absent: none. Notice Inviting Sealed Proposals, National City Lighting authorizing /Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Kilcrease, / 7 the contract with the Burroughs Caenpany for the service on the Burroughs Type- writer. Carried, by the following vote to -wit: Ayes: Councilmen, Cordingly, Kilcrease, Thatcher, warner, Bird. Nayes: Councilmen, none. Absent: none. 'The Twenty-third Annual Dividend Announcement of the State Compensation Insurance Fund, read and ordered filed. /Communication from the Division of Motor Vehicles- Department of Registration, read and referred to the Chief of Police. 'Report of the City Court for the month of Septemb-r, 1937, read and ordered filed �lq+a 'RESOLUTION NO. 1912, accepting the decision of the Planning Commission regarding the permit for the beauty parlor at 18th St and Highland Avenue, read. Moved by Thatcher, seconded by Cordingly, that the Resolutionb e adopted. Carried, b- the following vote to -wit Ayes: Councilmen, Cordingly, Kilcrease, Thatcher, Warner, Bird. ayes: Councilmen, none. Absent: none. `1-i413 --RESOLUTION NO. 1913, accepting the decision of the Planning Commission perniting the erection of a sign board by Foster and Kleiser, read. Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Thatcher, that the Resolutionbe adopted. Carried, by the following vote tor -wit: �# gi}l District No. 1, read and filed. Ayes: Councilmen, Cordingly, Kilcrease, Thatcher, Warner, Nayes: Councilmen, none. Absent: none. Bird. / RESOLUTION NO'. 1914, accepting the decision of the Planning Commission_ in regards to the petition of A. Cohen and Son for a special permit for a junk yard; said decision_ rejecting the petition' read. Moved by Warner, seconded by Cordingly,_ that the Resolution be adopted. Carried, by the following vote to -wit: Ayes: Councilmen, Cordingly, Kilcrease, Thatcher, Warner, Bird. ayes: Councilmen, none. Absent: none. 114 Sup't of Streets reported that the fence of E.G.Wamilton has been repaired. 'Chief of Police reported that the matter of the hand laundry to be taken care of the next day. Moved by Cordin$y, seconded by Thatcher, that the following transfers be authoriz5d: 3 500.00 from the Special Delinquent Tax Fund to the Library Fund. Carried, by the following vote to -wit: Ayes: Councilmen, Cordingly, Kilerease, Thatcher, Warner, Bird. Nayes: Councilmen, none Absent: none. Moved by Kilerease, seconded by Warner, that the completion payment of $ 5,400 be paid to Calland and Eden. Carried, by the following vote to -wit: Ayes: Councilmen, Cordingly, Kilcrease,Thatcher, Warner, Bird. Nayes: Councilmen, none. Absent: none. Being no further business, it was moved by Cordingly, seconded by Kilcrease, that the meeting adjourn. Carried, all Councilmen present voting aye.
