A regular meeting of the City Council called to order
by the Mayor. Councilmen present: Cordingly, Kilcrease, Thatcher,
Warner, Bird.
Minutes of the regular meeting of November 17, 1936, read
and approved.

Moved by Kilcrease, seconded by Cordingly, that the bills be
allowed and warrants drawn for same. Carried, by the following
vote to -wit:
Ayes: Councilmen, Cordingly, Kilcrease, Thatcher, Warner, Bird.
Mayes: Councilmen, none.
Absent: Mone.
Written protest of J.i.Finch, substantiated by oral argument,
of the ruling of the Planning Commission on petition f or dairy
in R-2 zone, presented. Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Kilcrease,
that a public hearing be held on December 15, 1936 at 8:00 o'clock
PM in the Council Chambers by the City Council at which time a
decision will be given. Carried, all Councilmen present voting aye.
Communication fro; Asa R, Webb, Tax Collector submitting a
report of the amount of the current tax colledted to date, read
and ordered filed.
4-o*-/Vso / Petition from the Sweetwater Citrus Cooperative Assn for a
special permit to erect a loading and unloading platform, read.
Moved by Pdarnor, seconded by Thatcher, that RESOLUTION NO. 1850
granting the special permit be adopted. Carried, all Councilmen
present voting ayes
Communication from Faulkner, Oakes and Faulkner, accountants,
read and ordered filed.

/ Communication from Hiram Johnson, Senator; Wm Gibbs McAdoo
Senator; and Geo. W Burnham, Congressman, regarding the application
of the City of National City for a new City Hall, read and ordered
filed.
Fire Chief James Bird introduced Mr. Curtis of the N.L. Curtis
Company, Glendale, California who gave ahvery interesting
demonstration of the automatic resuscitator and inhalator.
Moved by Warner, seconded by Thatcher, that the City of
National ity authorize the purchase of the resuscitator and
r
inhalators at the cost of $ 350.00 nplus tax. Carried, by the
following vote to -wit:
Ayes: Councilmen, Cordingly, Kilcrease,Thatcher,Warner,Bird.
Nayes: Councilmen, none.
Absent: none.
Communication from the Division of Highways enclosing a
memorandum signed by the Deputy Director of Public Works, approving
a system of Streets of Major Importance, within the City of
National City, read and ordered filed.
Report of the City Court for the month of November, 1936 of
720. read and ordered filed.
RESOLUTION NO. 1851, approving Memorandum of Agreement for
Streets of Major Importance, read. Moved by Thatcher, seconded by
Warner, that the Resolution be adopted. Carried, all Councilmen
present voting aye.
Q2t4 Irr RESOLUTION NO. 1852 accepting payment of Chas. L. Kayler
delinquent taxes without the 7% penalty, read. Moved by Cordingly,
seconded by Kilcrease, that the Resolution be adopted. Carried, all
Councilmen present voting aye.
Ben Sturdevant of the National City Chamber of Commerce
present and sppke of the plans for Christmas decorations. The
Chamber of Commerce have allocated $ 50.00 towards the expense and
Requests the City Council to allocateca like sum. Drawings of the
proposed decorations for ornamental lights presented. Moved by
Cordingly, seconded by Warner, that the City Council authorize the
expenditure of $ 50.00 from the cjity Funds for their share of the
expense in decorating the City for Christman. Carried, by tho

following vote to -wit:

Hayes: Councilmen, none.
Absent: none.
Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Thatcher, that the following
transfers be authorized:
454.00 from the Sp. Gas Tax St.Imp. rund to the Street
Improvement Fund. -
$ 385.65 from the State Auto Tax Fund to the General Fund.
Carried, all Councilmen present voting aye.
/Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Thatcher, that the City Clerk
be instructed to write a letter to the San Diego Consolidated Gas
and Elecgric Company asking that the ornamentalpoles be painted
with aluminum paint before Xmas if possible. Carried, all Council-
men present voting aye.
-'City Attorney presented a grant deem from Mr. Rutherford for
301 for Street purposes; matter laid over for further consideration.
City Engineer Cayser reported that the WPA has approved two
projects. One for the continuation of the map survey and the other
for cleaning and repairing of the 25 miles of sewer within the City.
Moved by Kilcrease, seconded by Thatcher, that the installation
of two lights on Melrose Street be authovized. Carried, by the
gollowing vote to -wit:
Ayes: Councilmen, Cordingly, Kilcrease, Thatcher,Warner, Bird.
Hayes: Councilmen, none.
Absent: none.
/ Moved by Thatcher, seconded by Cordingly, that the City Clerk
be instructed to write a letter of condolanee to the family of Mrs.
Waddell and that flowers be sent from the City. Carried, all Council-
men present voting aye.
City Attorney Campbell advised the City Council that the City
is liable in not having paraliet parking on Highway 101. Moved by

Cordingly, seconded by Warner, that the City Clerkb e instructed to
communicate with the Division of Highways regarding the enforcing of
parallet parking on National Avenue. Carried, all Councilmen present
voting aye.
There being no further business, it was moved by Cordingly,
seconded by Kilcrease, that t he meeting adjourn.Carried, all Council-
