National City, California, January 7, 1936
A regular meeting of the City Council of the City of
Natio*al City called to order by the Mayor. Councilmen
Present: Cordingly, Kilcrease, Thatcher,Warner, Bird.
Minutes of the regular meeting of December 17, 1935
and the special meeting of January 2, 1936, read and
approved.

Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Kilcrease that the
bills be allowed and warrants drawn for same. Carried, by the
following vote to -wit:
Ayes: Councilmen, Cordingly,lilcrease, Thatcher,Warner, Bird.
ayes: Councilmen, none
Absent: Councilmen, none.
Communication from Guy and Guy regarding insurance
policies on the fleet of city -owned vehicles and the insurance
on men driving same. Moved by Thatcher, seconded by Warner, that
the policies be re-newed. Carried, all Councilmen present voting
aye.
° Report of the San Diego County Health Department for the
month Bf November, 1935, read and ordered filed.
t,Communication from the League of Calitrnia Municipalities
regarding the sale of Municipal Bonds, read and ordered filed.
• Communication from the League of California Municipalities
regarding the dues for 1936, read and ordered laid over until a
future date.
o Communication from the Division of Highways explaining the
expenditure of the quarter -cent gas tax allocations, read and
oradered filed.
' Report of the Fire Marshall and the City Court for the
month of December, 1935, read and ordered filed.
RESOLUTION NO. 1802, amending Resolution No. 1737 entitled
"Resolution appointing certain officersand Employees of the City of
National City, California, and Fixing Compensation", read. Moved
by Cordingly, seconded by Thatcher, that the Resolution appointing
Bert Smith to the Fire Department, be adopted. Carried, all
Councilmen present voting aye.
• RESOLUTION NO. 1803, authorizing the payment of the three
defaulted bonds and the interest in Series D, read. Moved by
Cordingly, seconded by Thatcher, that the Resolution be adopted.
Carried, A11 Councilmen present voting aye.
ORDINANCE no. regulating the licensing of certain
games, read. Moved by Thatcher s econded by Warner, that the
Ordinance be introduced and laid over, under the rules and
according to law. Carried, all Councilmen present voting aye.

The matter of the Coronado -San Diego Bay Bridge was
reconsidered. After eonsiderable discussion, it was moved by
Kilcrease, Seconded by Cordingly, that the City Council protest
the construction of the Bridge upon the same grounds that the
previous protest was based, and the City Clerkbe authorised to
file with Theodore Wyman,Jr., Major, Corps of Engineers, District
Engineer, the aforesaid protest. Carried, all Councilmen present
voting aye.
Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Warner, that the meeting
adjourn. Carried, all Councilmen presnet toting aye.
