'Commu�nicationd the Olivewood Club asking for financial
assistanc.Afrom the City Council. Moved by Kilcrease, seconded
by Cordingly, that a warrant be drawn for the sum of 15.00
dollars in favor of the Olivewood Club. Carried by the following
vote to wit:

Communication from the Paradise Valley Sanitarium &
Hospital requesting a Master Plumbers permit, read and re-
ferred to the Committee on Health & Morals.
.Communication requesting a street light be placed at the
intersection of Tenth and C Streets read. Moved by Cordingly,
seconded by Kilcrease that the request be allowed. Carried by
the following vote to wit:
Ayes: Councilmen, Cordingly, Kilcrease, Thatcher, Warner, Bird.
Hayes: Crbuncilmen, none.
Absent: Counolmen, none.
Communication from C.R.Linn applying for appointment as
Deputy City Assessor read and referred to City Assessor.
•Communication from Chief Knapp requesting that A. Simmons,
Lowell Sullen, and John Owens, be appointed Special Police
Officers without compensation. Moved by Cordingly; seconded
by Thatcher, that request be allowed. Carried, all Councilmen
present voting aye.
Communication from Judge Harbison recommending that the
sum of ten (10.00) dollars be refunded to Mr. Noel Allen.
Moved by Kilcrease, seonded by Cordingly, that Mr. Allen be
refunded ten dollars. Carried by the following vote to wit:
Ayes: Councilmen, Cordingly, Kilcrease, Thatcher, Warner, bird.
Hayes: Councilmen, none.
Absent: Councilmen, none.
Resignation tf',Harold Requa, Jr. as Deputy city Treasurer
read. Moved by 2hktcher, seyonded by Warner, that the redignation
be accepted. Carried, all Councilmen present voting aye.
Resignation of Irene G. Wessink hlston as Deputy City
Clerk regd. Moved by Lordingly, seconded by Thatcher that the
resignation be accepted. Carried, all Councilmen present
voting aye.
Communication from the Federal Housing Adminicstration
read and referred to City Clerk; said Clerk to send copy of
Building and Zoning Ordinances as requested.
Reports of the City Court, Fire Dept. Police Dept. Fire
Marshall read and ordered filed.

Notice of Public Work, read and ordered filed.
• RESOLUYION N0. 1764, appointing Certain Officers and
Employees of the City of National City, and fixing compen-
sation,read. Moved by Kilcrease, seconded by Cordingly,
That RESOLUTION N0. 1764, appointing Helen Gibbs Johnson as
Deputy City Clerk and Betty Lindholm as Deputy City Treasurer
be adopted. Carried by the following vote to wit:
Ayes: Councilmen, Cordingly, Kilcrease, Thatcher, Warner, bird.
Nayes: Councilmen, none.
Absent: Councilmen, none.
Moved by Thatcher, mended by Kilcrease that the proper
officers be authorized to make the following transfer:
$ 668.04 from the Sp.Del. Tax Fund to the General Find.
Carried, all Councilmen present voting aye.
"RESOLUTION N0. 1765, ordering closing of portion of
Cleveland Avenue, read. Moved by Kilcrease, seconded by
Cordingly, that the Resolution be adopted. Carried, by the
following vote to wit:
Ayes: Councilmen, Cordingly, Kilcrease, Thatcher, Warner, Bird.
Nayes; Councilmen, none.
Absent: Councilmen, none.
Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Thatcher, that the City
