A regular meeting of the City Council of the
City of National City called to order by the Mayor.
Councilmen present: Cordingly, xilcfeaso, Thatcher,
Warner and Bird.
Minutes of the regular meeting of June 18, 1935,
read and approved.

be allowed and warrants drawn for same, Carried by the
following vote to witL
Ayes: Councilmen, Cordinglty, Kilcrease, Thatcher, Warner
and Bird.
Hayes: Councilmen, none.
Absent: Councilmen, none.
' Communication from the League of California
Municipalities presenting bill for duos for calendar
year 1935, read and laid on the table .
°Communication from Mrs Ada B.Blackman thanking
the Council for their action in regard to the Blackman
lease, read and ordered filed.
°Report of the City Court, Fire Department, and the
Flee Marshall for the month of Juno, read and ordered
filed.
PAnnual report of the Library, read and ordered
filed until a futurodate.
e It was moved by Cordingly, seconded by Warner, that
the contracts for the three new Ford Va.'s be referred to
the City Abdornoy and that the Mayor and the City Clerk
be authorized: to enter into the agreement on the approval
of said City Attorney. Carried, by the following vote to wit:
Ayes: Councilmen, Cordingly, Kilcrease, Thatcher, Werner, and
Bird.
Nayes: Councilmen, none.
Absent: Councilmen, none.

-Moved by Warner, seconded by Cordingly, teat the Bonds
for certain City officials be accepted and warrants drawn for
premium. carried, by the following vote to wit:
Ayes: Councilmen, Cordingly, Kilcrease, Thatcher, Warner,Bird.
Nayes: Councilmen, none.
Absent: Councilmen, none.
It was roved by Cordingly, seconded by Thatcher, that l_r`
the contract for th- sewer pump with # Hazard -Gould Co.
be referred to the City Attorney and the ➢Mayor and City
Clerk be instructed to enter into the agreement on tho
approval of tho City fttornoy. Carried, by the following
vote to wit:

"Communication from the Sweetwater Union High School
District regarding the SERA work at the Sepal, load and
ordered filed.
Commun4cgtion from Senator Ed. Fletcher, urging action
in sytpport of the Flood Control Bill now bofore the
Governor for signing. Moved by Kilcrease, seconded by
Cordingly, that the City Clerk t e instructed to send a
t&&egram to the Governor asking him to sir,n the bill,carried .
by the following vote to wit:
Ayes: Councilmen, Cordingly, Kilcroase, Thatcherjahnrner,Bird.
Hayes: Councilmen, none.
Absent: Councilmen, none.
TCommunication from Attorney Henry W. dacha, submittinE,
the verified claim of Mrs Ruth Jennings, for damages resulting
from a fall caused by an' alleged defoctive sidewalk, read and
referred to the City Attorney.
°Communication from the State Board of Equalization
submitting the proposed assessments by primary areas of the
County of San Diego, road and ordorod filed.
Communication from Fintzelberg & Steinmetz, Insurance
Agents, regarding bill for damages to fire hydrant, read.
City Clerk instructed to answer the letter.
a Communication fromthe Department of Public Health,
County of San Diego, submitting the Births, deaths, infant
mortality and personal injurios and fatalities from auto-
mobile accidents in the city of National City during the
year 1936. Read and ordered filed.
Communication from the Library Board per Susie Moore,
Secretary, notifying the City Council of the expiration of
the term of Mrs. E. Tholen , and the resignation of Mrs.
Rpafford from the Library Board. It was moved by Warner,
seconded by Cordingly, That the City Council ro-appoint Mrs.
E. lhelen to the Library Board and to approve of the appoint-
ment of Mrs D.T.Short to fill out Mrs Spafford's term of office.
Carried, all 'ouncilmen present voting aye.

the Publication of Legal Notices, read and ordered filed.
'Bids for Le/gal Printing for the City of National City,
submitted by the National City News and the National City
Reporter, read and referrdd to the Finance Committee and the
City Attorney.
, RESOLUTION NO. 1775, creating a special fund to
provide for the payment of warrants outstanding as of July
1, 1935. read. It was moved by Cordingly, seconded by
Thatcher, that the RESOLUTION be adopted. Carried, by the
following vote to wit:
Ayes: Councilmen, Cordingly, Kilcrease, Thatcher, Warner, Bird.
Noyes: Councilmen, None.
Absent: Councilmen, none.
Ivioved by Cordingly, seconded by Thatcher, that the
Council adjourn. Carried, all Councilmen present voting aye.
